On the evening of October 5th, the film "Sister Sister 3" unexpectedly announced that its release date would be postponed to October 30th, instead of the previously scheduled October 16th. The reason given by the production team was that "the joyous occasion must be chosen to be truly perfect."
However, some viewers believe the postponement may be aimed at avoiding the hype surrounding " The Human Trafficking Camp ," which has been dominating the box office for several consecutive days. Prior to "Sister Sister 3," "Karaoke Murder" also made a similar move.
Vietnamese cinemas are incredibly tense at the end of October.
So, Vietnamese cinemas will have three films released on October 30th. Bloodline , Sisterhood 3, and Karaoke Murder.
Among these, "Bloodline" was one of the first to choose October 30th for its theatrical release. The film, a horror and spiritual thriller, is described as a "symphony of chanting" revolving around the exorcism journey of a young girl by Tam (Quach Ngoc Ngoan) and Liem (Quang Tuan).

One is a successful doctor who believes in the power of medicine; the other is a sorcerer who believes in the law of karma. Two people, two beliefs, and two ways of facing the spiritual world , but sharing the same goal of saving an innocent child.
Sharing a similar horror theme is "Karaoke Murder ." The story revolves around a group of people who go to a mountain homestay to relax and "heal."
However, the trip quickly turns into a nightmare when Mrs. Thuy (Van Dung), a karaoke enthusiast, is mysteriously murdered. From here, the small village's pilgrimage is transformed into an unwilling game of wits.

Sister Sister 3 takes on a completely different feel, exploring the psychological, emotional, and thriller genres.
Set against the backdrop of old Northern Vietnamese society with its strict customs and traditions, the film tells the story of Thi Mau ( Ky Duyen ), a beautiful and talented young lady who becomes entangled in complex romantic relationships and many secrets.
When love and honor are faced with different choices, the characters must confront the consequences of their own emotions.

Is postponing the date the right decision?
Currently, "The Human Trafficking Camp" is still performing well at the box office. As of the morning of October 6th, after 11 days of release, the film has grossed 310 billion VND and continues to lead the daily box office with nearly 8 billion VND. Notably, this figure was recorded at the beginning of the week, a time when purchasing power usually decreases compared to the weekend.
Thanks to positive word-of-mouth, the film continues to attract audiences and is expected to reach 400 billion VND in the near future.

This popularity partly illustrates the difficult challenge facing Vietnamese films preparing for release in October. A film not only has to compete with other films released at the same time, but also has to consider the possibility of "coexisting" with films that are experiencing strong growth, such as " The Human Trafficking Camp ".
Three films choosing October 30th for their release dates means the box office race will become even more intense. Bloodline, Karaoke Murder , and Sister Sister 3 will all have to share screening slots. Not to mention, Human Trafficking Camp could still retain a large audience if it maintains its current popularity.
It's not uncommon for several Vietnamese films to be released in theaters on the same day.
October 2025, "Grave Relocation ," "Blindfolded Deer Catching ," and "Mom's Birthday Party" all hit the box office this Halloween, but the results were not very promising.
At that time, "Cai Ma" was the best-performing film, only leaving theaters with a revenue of over 19 billion VND. "Pha Dam: Sinh Nhat Me" only grossed about 5.5 billion VND, while "Bat Mat Bat Nai" even became one of the biggest box office failures of 2025 with nearly 700 million VND.

For example, during the April 30th and May 1st holidays this year, five Vietnamese films were released simultaneously, but their box office revenue varied significantly, with only two films surpassing the 100 billion VND mark. The simultaneous release of so many films fragmented the market share, and not every film was able to retain audiences.
This case illustrates the risks of releasing many films at the same time: the number of choices increases, but this doesn't necessarily mean revenue will increase as well.
And with three films released on October 30th, a similar scenario could easily repeat itself if the quality of the films isn't good enough to retain audiences.
However, not all films are afraid of the Human Trafficking Camp craze . "Mother Min," starring Minh Hang, announced that it will keep its release date, hitting theaters on October 23rd.
Coming soon, on October 9-10, "Near-Perfect Murder" starring the duo Anh Tú Atus and DJ Mie will also officially premiere.
