Use solar power at the right time.
According to market assessments, Vietnam's energy market is entering a period of significant transformation, posing new demands in electricity management and cost optimization.
Changes in electricity usage patterns, peak hours, and the expansion of the mechanism for selling surplus electricity from rooftop solar power systems are directly impacting the investment and operational challenges faced by businesses.

In particular, Government Decree 243/2026/ND-CP dated June 26, 2026, expands the mechanism for selling surplus electricity from rooftop solar power. Along with adjustments related to peak hours, this gives businesses more opportunities to recalculate their power generation strategies.
From this point on, the challenge for solar power is no longer simply installing a system to generate the most electricity, but rather requires producing, storing, and using electricity at the right time, with the highest efficiency.
Solar power is characterized by generating the majority of its output during the day, while the electricity demand of many production and business facilities can continue to increase in the evening. This difference between the time of power generation and the time of consumption means that a portion of the electricity is not used optimally.

The BESS system can partially solve this problem by storing electricity when solar power is abundant and supplying it back when demand increases. This allows businesses to increase their solar power utilization, reduce the amount of electricity they need to buy from the grid at certain times, and gain more control over energy management.
Mr. Pham Xuan Tung, from Tung Anh Packaging Co., Ltd. in Dak Nong, said that previously, investors often focused on the capacity of solar panels and the amount of electricity generated. Now, they are more interested in the ability to use that electricity at times that yield high economic efficiency.
Businesses need a solution that can effectively utilize the electricity generated during the day and use it at the right time. Therefore, energy storage devices are receiving increasing attention.

Synchronization goes hand in hand with safety.
The market currently offers many technologies, storage devices, and Solar + BESS solutions to meet various needs. However, choosing a system that operates effectively requires ensuring synchronization between its components, from solar panels, inverters, storage batteries, protection devices, to energy management systems.
This was also one of the topics of interest to businesses at the ALL-IN-ONE ENERGY TOUR 2026 conference, themed "Integrated Solar + BESS Solutions - Leading the Market," recently organized jointly by Unitek, Uhome, and Usolution.

Mr. Truong Van Hung, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dak Lak School Books and Equipment Joint Stock Company, said that the company participated in the workshop to update itself on market changes, grasp technological trends, and find storage devices suitable for its actual needs.
According to Mr. Hung, for energy projects, choosing the right solution from the outset is crucial. If the equipment is incompatible or unsuitable for the load, businesses may incur additional costs for upgrades and replacements during operation.
The ALL-IN-ONE ENERGY TOUR 2026 conference updated attendees on market changes and introduced solutions for system synchronization, investment efficiency optimization, models tailored to business needs, and requirements in operation, maintenance, testing, performance enhancement, and stability.

The solutions and equipment introduced by Pylontech, Fox ESS, Fluke, and Goneo focus on different stages in the construction and operation of energy systems.
Besides investment efficiency, an issue that businesses are increasingly concerned about is safety in the operation of solar power and energy storage systems.
At the workshop, Fluke representatives shared information on testing, operation, and maintenance of solar power systems, helping businesses gain more knowledge on how to check equipment status, evaluate performance, and detect issues that may affect operation.
For BESS systems, safety requirements are even more crucial because they store a large amount of energy over extended periods. Selecting standard-compliant equipment, proper installation, temperature control, battery status monitoring, and regular system checks are all important factors in minimizing risks.

Mr. Lam Thanh Trung, Fluke's Sales Channel Manager in Vietnam, believes that the goal of the BESS solution is not just to store electricity, but more importantly, to help businesses utilize energy sources efficiently and safely.
"The storage solution must ultimately aim to optimize the value of the electricity generated by the business. When solar power is stored and used at the right time, businesses can reduce costs, improve system efficiency, and aim for optimal revenue for the producer," Mr. Trung said.
According to Mr. Trung, to achieve this goal, the storage system needs to be designed based on load characteristics, solar power output, electricity usage time, and specific operating plans.
In addition, there is an energy management system to monitor and control the charging and discharging process, thereby limiting the misuse of the device at inappropriate power levels or times.

In reality, Solar + BESS is opening up a new approach for businesses using solar power. In the energy transition trend, the value of solar power therefore lies not only in the amount of electricity produced but also in the ability to intelligently manage, store, and utilize the power source.
