Accordingly, Thai Nguyen 's total PII score in 2026 will reach 47.81 points, an increase of 5.26 points compared to 2025, which will not only help the province move up 5 ranks but also place it at the top of the northern midland and mountainous region.

Thai Nguyen has an innovation input score of 54.86 and an innovation output score of 40.75. Among the seven pillars of the PII 2026, the level of enterprise development is a standout feature for Thai Nguyen, with the province ranking third nationwide, after Bac Ninh and Hanoi .

This reflects the capacity of the business sector in accessing and applying science, technology, and innovation, and also shows that the business development environment continues to be one of the province's advantages.

This achievement in Thai Nguyen stems from the province's decisive implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation.

Thai Nguyen has made new breakthroughs by attracting the Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) technology talent training center at the University of Information and Communications Technology (ICTU). This is Samsung's only SIC base in the northern midland and mountainous region.

In 2026, the Center plans to train 458 students in key technology fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors, the Internet of Things (IoT), and big data, contributing to the supply of high-quality human resources to serve the province's high-tech industrial ecosystem.

In addition, the Yen Binh Concentrated Digital Technology Park Project has been launched, opening up further avenues for the development of the electronics and digital technology industrial ecosystem.

Thai Nguyen is directing efforts to address five major challenges to make science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation the driving force for development, including: bringing businesses into deeper involvement in Samsung's ecosystem and the technology and electronics ecosystem; strongly applying science and technology to improve the quality and value of tea and other agricultural and forestry products; developing advanced mineral processing technology and green energy solutions; applying science, technology, and digital transformation to narrow the development gap between regions; and focusing on completing a shared data warehouse, ensuring standardized, interconnected, and efficiently utilized data.
