Hoa Dien introduces insect monitoring system into rice fields.

Installing a smart insect monitoring system at Thuong Dien Agricultural Cooperative.

On the afternoon of October 6th, the An Giang Provincial Agricultural Extension Center, in coordination with the supplier, installed a smart insect monitoring system at the Thuong Dien Agricultural Cooperative, Kenh 9 Hamlet, Hoa Dien Commune. The system, valued at approximately 370 million VND, was funded by the Provincial Agricultural Extension Center.

Through internet connectivity, the system allows specialists and farmers to remotely monitor insect populations, receive alerts and recommendations for production. The system also records data on the environment, seasons, and insects, thereby supporting the tracking of the appearance and migration of pests throughout the rice plant's growth stages.

Based on the collected data, agricultural professionals and farmers have a better basis for early detection of pest outbreaks, selecting appropriate control measures, and limiting the use of pesticides when unnecessary.
