On the afternoon of October 6th, a monitoring delegation from the Social Insurance Management Council, led by Mr. Dinh Hong Thai - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance and member of the Management Council, held a working session with the Provincial People's Committee on the implementation of social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance policies, particularly solutions to expand social security coverage to vulnerable groups and self-employed workers in the province.

Receiving and working with the delegation was Comrade Nguyen Thi Be Muoi - Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for the implementation of social insurance and health insurance policies.

According to the report, by 2026, the development of insurance participation in the province has achieved many positive results. Specifically, the rate of people participating in health insurance reached nearly 97%; the rate of the working-age labor force participating in social insurance reached 31.4% (of which voluntary social insurance reached 4.4%); and the rate of participation in unemployment insurance reached 26.2%.

Notably, administrative reform and document digitization continued to yield positive results. In the first eight months of 2026, the province received over 337,000 applications, with a timely and on-time resolution rate of 99.74%.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Be Muoi affirmed that Vinh Long always considers social insurance and health insurance as important pillars of the social security system. In the coming time, the province will focus on innovating the content of propaganda to suit each target group. This includes focusing on mobilizing self-employed workers, informal workers, and workers in small and medium-sized enterprises; while also promoting the role of mass organizations to expand sustainable insurance coverage.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance and member of the Management Board, Dinh Hong Thai, suggested that Vinh Long continue to strengthen the direction and implementation of insurance policies; and at the same time, research and issue policies to support stable contribution levels from the local budget, targeting ethnic minorities and disadvantaged groups.
