Sene Dolta is a sacred traditional festival for every Khmer person to remember the gratitude owed to their ancestors, who shed sweat and blood to unite in reclaiming land and building their homeland. Bearing in mind the principle of remembering one's roots, the people in Khmer villages and temples always uphold the tradition of unity and unwavering trust in the leadership of the Party and the State.
As the year 2026 approaches, the joy of the Khmer people is amplified by the ongoing transformation of their homeland. The lean years of poverty and hardship are now a thing of the past, replaced by vast fields of golden ripening rice stretching across the villages. Both material and spiritual life have improved significantly, with children happily going to school. At the ancient temples, monks and Buddhists joyfully study the Khmer language, the common script, the Pali language, and Buddhist teachings, contributing to the preservation of their national cultural identity.
Education in ethnic minority areas has always received strong investment and attention. By the end of the 2025-2026 school year, the province will have 1,315 educational institutions ranging from preschool to vocational and higher education; of which 827 schools will meet national standards, reaching a rate of 62.89%. The Khmer people have always been proud of their patriotic traditions and unique culture, contributing to the strengthening of national unity. The land of Vinh Long, rich in revolutionary traditions, has given birth to many outstanding individuals such as People's Armed Forces Heroes Lam Sac and Nguyen Thi Ut (Ut Tich), Lieutenant General Son Cang; Heroic Vietnamese Mothers Kien Thi Nhan, Thach Thi Thanh, and Nam Xay; along with leaders and Buddhist monks such as Son Ngoc Minh, Thach Sa Mich, Son Phuoc Rot, Maha Son Thong, Buddhist monk Son Vong, Buddhist monk Thach Som, and political prisoners Thach Hoa and Thach Choi... During the resistance war, the Central Committee bestowed upon the Khmer people and the people of the province eight golden words: "The entire people rise up in unity to achieve merit."
Adhering to the view that education is a top national priority, the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee pay special attention to training and improving the skills of children from ethnic minority areas. This is the path to helping ethnic minority children access modern scientific knowledge. The intellectual workforce from ethnic minorities is increasingly mature, contributing to narrowing the development gap between ethnic groups in the province.
To continue the comprehensive development of ethnic minority areas, the Provincial Party Committee issued Resolution 10-NQ/TU dated April 29, 2026, on the comprehensive development of ethnic minority areas in the province for the period 2026-2030, with a vision to 2045; and Resolution 11-NQ/TU dated May 13, 2026, on the implementation of the National Target Program for building new rural areas, sustainable poverty reduction, and socio -economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the period 2026-2030, with a vision to 2035. This provides a solid foundation for the Khmer people to rise up and work together to build a prosperous and beautiful homeland.
