The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just issued Official Letter 4213/SVHTTDL-QLVHGĐ guiding the organization of activities to celebrate the Sêne Đôlta festival in 2026 for the Khmer people. Communes and wards should proactively develop appropriate, practical, safe, and economical programs to create a joyful atmosphere and ensure security and order.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism requests that communes and wards organize cultural and artistic exchanges based on local conditions. Localities should prioritize performances that strongly reflect Khmer identity, such as folk songs, folk dances, and traditional five-tone music, combined with showcasing costumes, cuisine , and handicrafts. The relevant authorities should focus on promoting the role of artisans, respected individuals, religious leaders, and amateur performing arts groups.
Sports activities focused on organizing competitions in volleyball, football , badminton, and folk games among hamlets, neighborhoods, and schools. Publicity efforts were intensified through radio broadcasts, websites, and digital platforms in both Vietnamese and Khmer.
Local authorities, in coordination with the Fatherland Front Committee, mass organizations, and the management board of Khmer Theravada Buddhist temples, created conditions for people to enjoy culture without affecting their religious activities. Functional forces proactively ensured security and order, traffic safety, fire prevention, and food safety during the festival.
