On the afternoon of October 2nd, a delegation from the Provincial People's Committee, led by Ms. Nguyen Thi Be Muoi - Provincial Party Committee member and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, conducted a working visit and on-site inspection of the free periodic health check-ups and screenings for residents in the province, specifically in the former Ben Tre area.

Also attending were Director of the Department of Health Ho Thi Thu Hang, representatives of the provincial departments and agencies; and leaders of the Party Committee, People's Committee, and Health Station of the communes of Giao Long, Phu Tuc, Luong Phu, Vinh Thanh, Thoi Thuan, An Hiep, and Tan Phu.

According to monitoring by the Health sector and the implementation of the "90-day campaign for free periodic health check-ups and screenings for people in the province," the 7 communes mentioned above currently have a low participation rate compared to the provincial average.

During the meeting, localities raised several difficulties affecting the implementation progress, such as: Low participation rate among the population; difficulty accessing the screening program for workers in industrial zones due to ongoing routine check-ups at their workplaces; infrastructure issues related to internet connectivity and a shortage of personnel for data entry; and the mindset of the people who do not fully understand the benefits of screening and regular health check-ups, believing that it is primarily for obtaining electronic medical records and that people do not trust the results of check-ups at local health stations. Furthermore, inaccurate population data led to low participation rates.

Faced with this situation, the communes demonstrated their determination to accelerate progress through various flexible solutions; these included going directly to religious establishments and individual households to mobilize and support the people.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Be Muoi stated that the work of conducting regular health check-ups and free screenings for the people, linked with the integration of electronic health records data on the VNeID application, is an important political task for Party committees and authorities at all levels, requiring the decisive involvement of local political and social organizations.

To ensure the successful completion of the "90-Day Campaign for Nationwide Screening," the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that departments, agencies, and localities focus their efforts to the maximum extent. They should strengthen coordination to promptly address difficulties related to technical infrastructure and data entry personnel. At the same time, they should intensify communication to help people understand the benefits of the electronic health record on VNeID. This will encourage proactive participation in screenings and timely data updates.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that in the communication efforts, it is necessary to clearly state the objectives, significance, and importance of screening and regular health check-ups so that people actively participate, ensuring that the campaign achieves the highest possible effectiveness.
