According to an inspection and review by the People's Committee of Phu Xuyen commune, the entire commune currently has 133 historical sites in its inventory. Of these, 49 sites have been classified (including 20 national-level sites and 29 city-level sites), while the remaining sites have not yet been classified. The classified sites generally have complete scientific documentation, including: classification decisions, historical records, maps delineating protection zones, and preserved documents and artifacts.
To preserve and promote the value of traditional cultural beauty, over the years, Phu Xuyen commune has intensified propaganda efforts, mobilized resources for the restoration and renovation of historical relics, and maintained the organization of traditional festivals that foster community cohesion. This helps each citizen, especially the younger generation, to be proud of their homeland's cultural traditions, a place with many sacred temples, pagodas, and shrines associated with folk tales deeply ingrained in the lives and consciousness of each individual.

Mr. Duong Van Tham from Phu Cuong village said that Dinh Xa communal house is closely associated with the lives and activities of the people. On every holiday and festival, families, clans, and children who have moved away from home all come to offer incense and perform rituals to express their respect and gratitude to the village's guardian deity and ancestors who contributed to the founding of the village and protected and sheltered the people, ensuring their peaceful and happy lives.
“The two villages of Dinh Xa and Minh Nga have merged to form Phu Cuong village. With similarities in history and cultural traditions, we will continue to mobilize resources to restore and preserve the historical site, maintain the cultural beauty and folk beliefs at Dinh Xa communal house; and maintain the traditional village festival to create a united and joyful atmosphere in the community,” said Mr. Duong Van Tham.
According to our findings, in the period 2021-2025, Phu Xuyen commune has 11 approved projects for the restoration and preservation of historical relics. Of these, 6 projects have been completed and handed over for use; the remaining projects are under construction or preparing for restoration. Basically, the restored and preserved relics retain their ancient architectural features, harmoniously combined with banyan trees and wells, creating a prominent cultural space characteristic of the Northern Delta region.

Some historical relics, due to their age and the effects of storms and heavy rain, are now severely damaged and degraded, such as Cat Bi communal house, Thuong Giap communal house, An Lang communal house, and Dong Chanh communal house. The damage and degradation of these relics not only affect their architectural and artistic value but also hinder the organization of cultural and spiritual activities for the local people.
“The national historical and cultural relics of Pho Am Pagoda and Cat Bi communal house are closely associated with the life and cultural and religious activities of the people from ancient times to the present. Currently, Pho Am Pagoda is undergoing restoration and renovation, while many parts of Cat Bi communal house have been severely damaged and degraded, requiring timely investment from the state for restoration and upgrading, contributing to better protection of the relic's value,” said Mr. Vo Van Hien from Thuy Phu village.

To enhance the effectiveness of conservation and promotion of the value of historical relics, the People's Committee of Phu Xuyen commune has compiled a report on the current status and list of relics; and developed a specific plan for strengthening the management, protection, and promotion of the value of relics in the area. Accordingly, agencies, units, and villages, according to their functions and duties, will continue to inspect, review, and assess the current status, and work together in managing, preserving, and promoting the value of historical relics.
According to Nguyen Thi Hang, Head of the Culture and Social Affairs Department of Phu Xuyen commune, we continue to advise the Commune People's Committee to strengthen the management, protection, and promotion of the value of historical relics, and guide villages and sub-committees to comply with regulations. We are completing the dossiers for the preservation, restoration, and rehabilitation of historical relics and coordinating with specialized agencies in the appraisal process according to their authority.
"We will continue to review the current situation, identify dilapidated relics and structures to advise on the development of plans and propose resources for preservation, prevention of degradation, and restoration of relics. We will link conservation efforts with the promotion of the value of relics, festivals, traditional crafts, and tourism activities, contributing to the effective exploitation of heritage potential to serve local socio -economic development," Ms. Nguyen Thi Hang informed.
