According to Nguyen Tung Lam, Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Cua Nam Ward, the "We Are Firefighters" experiential program is a practical activity in response to the 25th anniversary of the National Day for Fire Prevention, Fighting, Rescue and Relief (October 4, 2001 - October 4, 2026).

Recognizing that fires, explosions, and other incidents and accidents can occur anytime and anywhere, Mr. Nguyen Tung Lam noted that in such situations, knowledge and skills in fire prevention and rescue can help individuals proactively prevent, handle, and protect their own lives as well as those around them. Therefore, the dissemination of knowledge and education on fire prevention and rescue skills for students is of paramount importance.

Through this program, students in Cua Nam ward not only listened to educational presentations but also directly experienced and practiced: from escape skills in smoky and toxic environments; experiencing VR-XR virtual reality technology; learning about specialized equipment used by the Fire and Rescue Police force; practicing the use of fire extinguishers; experiencing ladder trucks and participating in firefighting and property rescue teams. These are lively and practical activities that help students transform learned knowledge into real-world skills.

Notably, the students also had the opportunity to experience the work of firefighters, thereby understanding that becoming a firefighter requires courage, a sense of responsibility, discipline, good health, and especially professional skills.

"I hope that after this program, each child will remember the knowledge and skills that have been taught; proactively implement fire prevention measures at home and school; and not play with fire, heat sources, electrical equipment, and other items that pose a fire hazard," said Nguyen Tung Lam, Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Cua Nam Ward.

During the program, officers and soldiers directly disseminated and guided participants on basic knowledge of fire prevention and rescue, such as: common causes of fires and explosions in daily life and studies; preventive measures; initial handling procedures in case of an incident; escape skills in environments with a lot of smoke and toxic gases; and how to effectively use on-site fire extinguishing equipment. The content was conveyed in a way that was relevant to real-life situations, easy to understand, and suitable for students of all ages.

In addition, well-organized and realistic hands-on activities were conducted. Under the guidance of officers and soldiers, students directly used portable fire extinguishers to put out simulated fires; they also had the opportunity to learn about some modern firefighting and rescue equipment.
