The meeting was chaired by Nguyen Kim Quy, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union and President of the Vietnam Youth Federation; and Le Hai Long, Head of the Youth and Children Affairs Department of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union and Standing Vice President of the Vietnam Youth Federation.

According to information presented at the program, the Head of the Central Youth Union's Youth Affairs Department and Standing Vice President of the Vietnam Youth Union, Le Hai Long, stated that, in anticipation of the 70th anniversary of the Vietnam Youth Union's Traditional Day (October 15, 1956 – October 15, 2026), the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union is organizing a series of central-level activities on October 10 and 11 in Hanoi .
With the theme "Proud of the 70-year tradition of the Vietnam Youth Union," the program is not only an opportunity to look back on the journey of building and developing the organization, but also creates a space for young people to promote their pioneering spirit, creativity, volunteerism, and responsibility to the community.

The series of activities on October 10th began with a flag-raising ceremony, marking the 7th stage and concluding the "I Love My Homeland" journey at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square, with the expected participation of 1,200 association officials, members, and young people from various provinces, cities, and Hanoi. The program provided an opportunity for participants to reflect on the milestones, achievements, and exemplary stories created throughout the journey; and to acknowledge the contributions of localities, units, teams, and young people.
On October 10th, the "Youth Living Beautifully" Gala 2026 will take place, with the expected recognition of 15 outstanding young people. Each individual will receive a certificate of merit, a commemorative plaque, and a prize worth 10 million VND.

Additionally, the Ho Guom pedestrian area is hosting an exhibition commemorating 70 years of the Vietnam Youth Union. The exhibition space recreates the formation, development, and growth of the Union through various periods; showcasing milestones, movements, programs, projects, activities, and typical contributions of generations of Union officials, members, and young people to the country.
The highlight of the series of activities was the rally commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Vietnam Youth Union's founding, the awarding of the "Nguyen Chi Thanh" Prize in 2026, and the Youth Music Festival, held on the evening of October 11th at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square. At the ceremony, the Vietnam Youth Union received the First Class Labor Medal, a prestigious award from the Party and State recognizing the contributions of generations and strata of Vietnamese youth in the cause of national construction and defense.

Speaking at the press conference, Nguyen Kim Quy, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union and President of the Vietnam Youth Federation, said that the series of activities commemorating the 70th anniversary were organized in a way that linked traditional education with practical, creative, and integrated activities. Through this, the program contributes to fostering pride, patriotism, and a spirit of dedication; while also creating an environment for young people to interact, learn, develop their creative abilities, and affirm their role in society.
According to Comrade Nguyen Kim Quy, one of the important messages that the Vietnam Youth Union wants to spread through the series of activities commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Union's founding is the spirit of patriotism, while also expanding the front of solidarity and gathering of young people.
Notably, the patriotic spirit that the Association aims to instill is not only among young people but also extends to children. This message is also extended to Vietnamese youth both at home and abroad through activities such as the "I Love My Homeland" journey, which includes a leg of the journey in Laos, and social welfare programs for Vietnamese youth overseas.
