Through a series of practical activities, focusing on the grassroots and standing side-by-side with the people, the firefighters here have once again enhanced their glorious tradition, affirming the image of the People's Police officer as "the most disciplined, the most loyal, and the closest to the people".
Spreading survival skills
Lieutenant Colonel Le Quang Chinh, Head of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Quang Ngai Provincial Police, said that, adhering to the motto "prevention is key," the Department of Fire Prevention and Rescue Police of Quang Ngai Province places special emphasis on disseminating and educating students at all levels on fire prevention and rescue knowledge and skills. A series of practical and engaging programs were continuously implemented in the last days of September.

For example, on September 29th, the Firefighting and Rescue Team of Area 4 collaborated with Kon Tum High School (Kon Tum Ward) to organize a program to raise awareness and practice firefighting, rescue, and drowning prevention skills, attracting more than 1,600 officials, teachers, and students.
At this event, the students not only gained fundamental knowledge about survival skills and how to escape in case of fire, but also received 200 visual leaflets. Immediately afterwards, a fire fighting and rescue drill, coordinated with local forces, was successfully conducted, helping the school improve its ability to respond to unexpected situations.
Also on September 29th, at the Quang Ngai Provincial Youth Culture, Sports and Support Center, a training program on drowning prevention, combined with the "Green Race" swimming competition, took place enthusiastically. During the program, officers from the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police not only directly instructed participants on identifying risks, using life jackets, and safe self-rescue techniques, but also acted as referees, ensuring absolute safety for the participating students.

Previously, on September 28th, the Fire and Rescue Team of Area 4 also coordinated with Nguyen Tat Thanh Specialized High School (Kon Tum ward) to organize a training session for 1,100 students and teachers. Along with their professional duties, the Youth Union of the Fire and Rescue Team of Area 4 presented two "Igniting Knowledge" gifts worth 2 million VND to students in difficult circumstances. This heartwarming gesture vividly demonstrates the spirit of "Closest to the People," transforming theoretical lessons into a deep sense of sharing between the police force and the people.

Most recently, on October 2nd, at Pham Van Dong Square (Cam Thanh Ward), the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee organized the 2026 Firefighting and Rescue Skills Competition. This year's competition attracted the participation of over 400 athletes from 29 teams, including 20 specialized and grassroots firefighting and rescue teams and 9 civil defense teams from 9 wards in the province.
The program began with a parade showcasing modern fire fighting and rescue equipment and forces, contributing to raising awareness and responsibility among all levels, sectors, and the people, and strongly promoting the nationwide movement for fire prevention and rescue participation.
Next, the athletes enthusiastically competed in two practical events: a 100m steeplechase, rescue, and firefighting competition, and a 4 x 100m relay, rescue, property rescue, and firefighting competition.
Delivering a directive speech at the opening ceremony, Major General Ho Song An, Director of the Quang Ngai Provincial Police, acknowledged and commended the efforts and achievements of all levels, sectors, localities, agencies, units, and core forces in fire prevention and rescue work in the past period.
Major General Ho Song An emphasized that, in response to the demands of the new situation, the fire fighting and rescue forces need to constantly train and improve their professional skills, physical fitness, situational handling abilities, and coordination capabilities; thereby proactively preventing, being ready to respond to, and effectively handling fire, explosion, incident, and accident situations at the grassroots level, contributing to minimizing damage to people and property.
Ensuring safety in densely populated areas.
Not only in schools, but also in crowded areas and traditional markets – places with many potential fire hazards – the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police force of Quang Ngai province pays special attention to ensuring fire safety.
On September 25th, the Fire and Rescue Team of Area 5 organized a fire safety awareness and guidance session at the market and residential areas in Bo Y commune. Fire and Rescue officers and soldiers directly inspected and reminded the market management board and small traders about the risks from electricity, fire, and heat sources. Traders were advised not to make unauthorized electrical connections, to arrange goods neatly, not to obstruct escape routes, and to proactively equip themselves with portable fire extinguishers and understand how to use them.
Similarly, at markets in Van Tuong commune, through the movement "Safe Market - Proactive Traders - Safe People!", the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police force of Quang Ngai province organized many practical activities, such as disseminating information and providing guidance on fire prevention and rescue knowledge and skills; and distributing leaflets at markets in the commune.

Through awareness campaigns, residents and small business owners are guided to strictly comply with legal regulations on fire prevention and rescue; to use electricity, gas, stoves, fire sources, and heat sources correctly and safely; and to regularly inspect, detect, and promptly address any safety hazards.
Notably, small business owners are advised not to illegally connect or install electrical wires; not to use unsafe electrical equipment; and not to leave goods or items obstructing walkways or escape routes. They should also proactively equip themselves with on-site fire-fighting equipment, especially portable fire extinguishers; and understand how to use them to respond promptly in case of an emergency.
Upon discovering a fire, remain calm, alert everyone around you, quickly evacuate, and immediately call 114 to report to the Fire and Rescue Police force; at the same time, organize initial firefighting efforts when conditions permit and safety is ensured.
Proactively develop response plans during peak periods of heavy rain and flooding.
Alongside grassroots-oriented propaganda activities, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Quang Ngai province maintains the highest level of readiness for combat. Recognizing the complex weather situation with the peak of the rainy season approaching, the unit has intensified a comprehensive review of all conditions necessary for combat readiness.
Officers and soldiers of the Fire and Rescue Police have focused on comprehensively inspecting the technical condition, starting and operating capabilities, and fuel levels of fire trucks and specialized rescue equipment. Maintenance and upkeep of vehicles are carried out regularly and continuously to completely eliminate technical malfunctions, ensuring that vehicles are always in a state of rapid mobility, stable operation, and ready to deploy for missions in any emergency situation.

The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Quang Ngai province also advises people that, during heavy rainstorms and floods, they should proactively switch off the main circuit breaker to cut off the power supply in flooded areas to avoid the risk of electrical leakage, short circuits, and fires that could cause casualties.
People should absolutely avoid using electrical appliances with wet hands; elevate electrical sources, gas stoves, and flammable materials if their homes are at risk of flooding. In particular, they should absolutely avoid areas with deep flooding, strong currents, and submerged bridges during flash floods and high, fast-flowing water levels; they should closely monitor disaster warnings and strictly follow the instructions of local authorities.
“With unwavering resolve, strict discipline, and a heart dedicated to serving the people, all officers and soldiers of the unit always remember Uncle Ho's teachings, concretizing the spirit of the "Three Best" movement with practical actions, focusing on the grassroots, determined to stay close to the area, proactively preventing problems early and from afar, absolutely protecting the lives and property of the people, and maintaining peace for the homeland,” Lieutenant Colonel Le Quang Chinh, Head of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Quang Ngai Provincial Police, expressed.
