On October 3rd, the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phu Dong commune solemnly organized a ceremony to present the Decision and Certificate of Recognition from the Fatherland to martyr Nguyen Van Duc.

Martyr Nguyen Van Duc, born in 1957, was a son of Phu Dong homeland. During his military service, Comrade Nguyen Van Duc directly participated in combat on the Southwestern border front. In April 1978, at the age of 21, in a fierce battle, he was seriously wounded (81% disability and recognized as a Class 1/4 war invalid).
In 1981, he was discharged from the army and returned to his hometown. With the resilience of a soldier, he continued to work, take care of his family, and contribute to his homeland. On April 7, 2021, Comrade Nguyen Van Duc passed away.
On July 26, 2026, the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 1402/QD-TTg awarding the "Homeland's Recognition" certificate to martyr Nguyen Van Duc. This is a solemn recognition by the Party, the State, and the People of the martyr's contributions and sacrifices; it is also a source of honor and pride for his family and his hometown of Phu Dong.

At the ceremony, the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phu Dong commune presented the "Recognition of Service to the Fatherland" certificate to the representative of the family of martyr Nguyen Van Duc.
In the coming time, the Party Committee, government, and people of Phu Dong commune will continue to effectively implement policies for people with meritorious services, paying attention to and caring for policy beneficiary families through specific and practical actions; so that the tradition of "Drinking water, remembering the source" and "Showing gratitude" continues to be preserved and spread in community life.
