Opening Ceremony of the 20th National Cardiology Congress

Attending the event were Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi; representatives from departments under the Ministry of Health , directors of major hospitals, and leading experts and doctors in the field of cardiology.

The congress took place from October 2-4 with numerous thematic workshops and professional exchanges on cardiovascular fields. The content focused on new advances in the diagnosis, treatment, intervention, prevention, and management of cardiovascular diseases; and strengthened the connection between scientific research and clinical practice.

The program included discussions on several key issues of interest, such as: comprehensive hypertension management in Vietnam during the 2026-2030 period; application of the 2026 Recommendations for Diagnosis and Management of Chronic Coronary Syndrome in clinical practice; and updates on hypertension recommendations from the Vietnam Society of Cardiology.

Speaking at the opening session of the congress, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi stated that the 20th National Cardiology Congress is not only a major scientific event held in the city, but also a very valuable opportunity for the Da Nang health sector.

This is an opportunity for doctors, nurses, and healthcare workers in the city to learn, update themselves on new advancements, exchange experiences, and connect with leading experts domestically and internationally; thereby bringing new knowledge and technologies into practice in patient care.

The city always encourages and facilitates lifelong learning, scientific research, innovation, domestic and international cooperation, and the development of specialized techniques for its medical staff. But above all, all advances in medicine must aim at the common goal of ensuring that people receive better prevention, earlier disease detection, more effective treatment, and a better quality of life.

Within the framework of the congress, there was a workshop on chronic coronary syndrome, focusing on analyzing the application of new recommendations in practice, from assessment and diagnosis to the selection of management strategies and patient monitoring.
