A magical journey on October 10th.
On the afternoon of October 6th, Nhan Dan Newspaper held a ceremony to announce the art program "Giving Wings to Childhood," with the aim of creating another cultural space for children and families in Hanoi .

This program, organized to commemorate the 72nd anniversary of the Liberation of Hanoi (October 10, 1954 – October 10, 2026), focuses on children and connects various art forms within a cohesive narrative.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, journalist Que Dinh Nguyen, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, said that caring for children is a shared responsibility of families, schools, and the entire society. With its strengths in journalism, culture, and art, Nhan Dan Newspaper hopes to contribute more wholesome, educational , and humane products that meet the needs of children.

According to journalist Que Dinh Nguyen, the "Wings of Childhood" program was created with the desire to use the joy of the stage to spark curiosity, a thirst for knowledge, and a proactive habit of exploring life in children. This is also a way for Nhan Dan Newspaper to accompany the future generation of readers. Nurturing the joy of reading, encouraging children to ask questions and explore from an early age, contributes to expanding their knowledge, shaping their character, and accompanying them as they grow up.
Explaining the choice of October 10th for the program, Creative Director Vu Liem said that this date is associated with a historical milestone of the capital city, thereby paying tribute to the past and evoking pride in Hanoi. In particular, the program aims to create a space called "Meeting in Hanoi's Autumn" - where children can learn about their parents' childhoods, and parents can have the opportunity to see the world of their children today.
The image of "The Magical Page" was chosen as the creative language throughout the program. From a blank page on their desks, the drawings, folds, and imaginations of young children transform into airplanes and boats, taking them into new worlds.

Accompanying them on this journey are the characters Red Star and Shooting Star, played by Mac Van Khoa and Hoang Kim Ngoc, guiding the children through a journey with three chapters: "Realm of Memories," "Magical Forest Garden," and "Sky of Dreams." From childhood memories connected to family, school, homeland, and country, the program takes the children to a colorful world of nature, and then returns them to the question of their own dreams.
The program features artists Hoang Bach, LyLy, Izara Thien Nga, Phuong Thao, along with a cast of child artists including Ali Thuc Phuong, Cao Phu Quy, Hao Khang, Thien Kim, Kim Cuong, Moon Tan Anh, Lucy Tra My, Trung Hai, Long Nhat, Camy Khanh An, Tuong Vy, Kent Nguyen, Ngoc Diep, Do Nhat Anh, Truc Anh, Gia Bao and Thao Chi.
Artists from the Vietnam Circus and Variety Arts Vocational School, the Hanoi Children's Palace, the Star of Childhood Club, and the HT Art Troupe also performed.
Notably, People's Artist Xuan Bac and People's Artist Tu Long were special guests who interacted with young audiences. The program also featured Nguyen Ngoc Phat (Phat Freestyle), a four-time consecutive Vietnamese freestyle football champion, who was among the world's Top 10 in 2018 and Top 3 in Asia.

The "Wings of Childhood" program focuses on and places children at the center. Instead of just watching the program, children interact, move, explore, and create memorable moments on stage.

According to Creative Director Vu Liem, the team chose an interactive storytelling approach to bridge the gap between the stage and the audience. Narration, gestures, group performances, and direct activities help the children immerse themselves in the story, thereby experiencing the art through their own personal experience.
The three programs correspond to three artistic spaces: "The Realm of Memories" evokes the values that nurtured childhood; "The Magical Forest Garden" represents imagination; and "The Sky of Dreams" is where emotions connect and guide each child towards what they wish to achieve.
Music, scenes, circus acts, puppets, mascots, dance, projected images, and props are combined to create a seamless transition between spaces. A system of detachable and expandable LED screens, along with a lifting platform, allows the stage to transform flexibly. Paper, drawings, folds, and watercolors are present throughout, transforming familiar childhood images into a vibrant world.

Before the performance, from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM, children can participate in the "Journey of Childhood" activity in the lobby of the National Convention Center with three experiential stations: "Nhan Dan Newspaper Station," "Magical Forest Garden," and "Wings of Dreams Station." Here, children can play games, quizzes, try tying scarves, take photos, write wishes, and fold their own paper airplanes to bring into the auditorium.
At 3:30 PM, the Fairy Tale and Cartoon Parade, featuring lion dance drums, fairy tale and cartoon characters, and costumed performers, will continue the journey. The main artistic program officially begins at 4:00 PM.
"Giving Wings to Childhood" concludes with a grand scene of the same name, where paper airplanes folded by the children themselves are lifted up, blending with the image of wings flying on the stage. From a blank sheet of paper, the journey through memories, exploration, and dreams becomes a simple message: every dream needs to be nurtured with joy, a thirst for knowledge, and daily effort.
The program was livestreamed on the social media platforms of Nhan Dan Newspaper, bringing the artistic journey for children to families across the country.
