On their last day in Hoi An , the fathers and their children were tasked with finding local ingredients to create dishes for the children. From there, each family was assigned different responsibilities.
While Thanh Trung and his two sons, Goku and Daino, went down to the river to learn how to cast a fishing net, Phuong Nam and Nguyen Oc searched for ingredients in the vegetable fields, then continued to till the soil to "exchange" for what they had harvested.
For Nguyen Oc, initial contact with soil and worms was a real challenge. She was afraid of dirt and didn't dare touch soil for fear of worms. To help her overcome her fear, Dau (Huy R's son) constantly encouraged her: "These worms won't bite, don't be afraid."
From a boy who was cared for by his father, Dau gradually learned to care for younger children. And this change was recognized at the end of his journey when Dau received the Independence Medal and the Discovery Medal from Uncle Leng Keng.
In another mission, Thanh Trung, along with Goku and Daino, went down to the river to fish. The three of them were taught by locals how to use fishing nets, learning about the fishing trade in brackish water. Despite eagerly anticipating the results, the three of them caught almost no fish.

Meanwhile, Huy R and Dau received a special challenge: to sing together to attract 10 tourist boats and locals to listen and cheer within 5 minutes. The father and son paddled a basket boat to the Bay Mau coconut forest area (also known as Cam Thanh Coconut Forest tourist area) with the help of local people to complete the challenge.
Huy R and his son boarded the boat and began their journey through the coconut grove. For Dau, it was an incredibly exciting experience, as it was his first time rowing a boat. Huy R's father added, "I was in my thirties when I first rode in a basket boat, and you, at only six, have already experienced it. Isn't that great?"
When it came time to perform, Huy R didn't choose an unfamiliar song, but instead chose his own familiar song, "Anh Thanh Niên" (Young Man), to fulfill his mission. He introduced it to the tourists present and then began singing amidst the Seven-Acre Coconut Forest.
After the performance, the father and son received a coconut from a local resident. Dau happily thanked them, and Huy R was also excited about the "prize" they brought home for their meal.
From tasks that seemed completely alien to the children's daily lives, the trip to Hoi An gradually transformed into an outdoor learning experience, where the children could do things themselves, experience and better understand the work of the local people.

After a busy morning, the dads faced another challenge: cooking meals for their children themselves.
Using coconut water as the main ingredient, Huy R's father made sweet soup, Thanh Trung prepared braised goby fish in a clay pot, while Phuong Nam presented Tam Huu (a specialty dish in Hoi An, combining shrimp, vegetables, and pork). Not only did the fathers have to cook, but they also had to present their dishes before the judging round.
Thành Trung drew attention with his rather humorous way of preparing braised goby fish, constantly "asking" his children about the ingredients in the kitchen. He also confidently asserted that the recipe was memorized from family meals.
Meanwhile, Phuong Nam gave the dish "Tam Huu" a new name, "the dish of affection," because he wanted to convey a story about the bond between friends and the combination of three groups of ingredients.
The last three dishes received a shared score of 9.75. However, the most memorable story wasn't about the scores.
When the judges announced that all three dishes received 9.75 points, Nguyen Oc was unexpectedly sad because he didn't win first prize. This moment quickly caught the attention of the other boys. Dau asked Oc why he was sad, and the boys immediately came up with a very innocent solution: if Oc wanted first prize, then they would take second prize.
In the end, even though the scores for all three dishes were equal, the children voluntarily gave up the "first prize" to Oc and accepted second place.

Before the Hoi An leg of the trip concluded, the children were awarded "journey medals" based on their performance throughout the journey. Daino received the Love Medal for consistently caring for and paying attention to the younger children; Dau received the Independence Medal and the Discovery Medal because, according to Uncle Leng Keng: "I saw you always taking care of little Oc, you took Oc to wash her hands and feet and always reminded her to be clean and well-behaved."
In particular, Nguyen Oc – a little girl who used to be afraid of soil and worms – was also recognized for her transformation and received the Medal of Courage. From not daring to touch the soil, Oc gradually overcame her fear to till the soil and plant vegetables with her father, Phuong Nam.
