
In the first nine months of 2026, the whole country saw the establishment of 149,700 new businesses with a total registered capital of 1,884 trillion VND. Compared to the same period last year, the number of newly established businesses increased by 3.2%, while registered capital increased by as much as 32.7%.
Business registration activities show some positive signs regarding investment resources. The average registered capital of a newly established business reached VND 12.6 billion, an increase of 28.5%. The total amount of additional registered capital injected into the economy in the first nine months reached over VND 5 trillion, an increase of 6.1% compared to the same period last year.
During the same period, nearly 74,300 businesses resumed operations, a 14% decrease compared to the same period last year. The total number of newly established and reactivated businesses reached over 223,900, a 3.2% decrease, equivalent to an average of 24,900 businesses entering the market each month.
By economic sector, agriculture, forestry and fisheries saw 1,558 newly established businesses, an increase of 17%; industry and construction had over 36,900 businesses, an increase of 14.1%; and services had nearly 111,200 businesses, a decrease of 0.1%.
On the market withdrawal side, in the first nine months, nearly 89,800 businesses temporarily suspended operations, a decrease of 9.7%; 33,500 businesses ceased operations pending dissolution procedures, a decrease of 37%; and over 48,700 businesses completed dissolution procedures, an increase of 118.8%. On average, 19,100 businesses withdrew from the market each month.
The results of the business trend survey in the manufacturing industry also show expectations for the fourth quarter. In the third quarter, 34.2% of businesses assessed the business situation as better than the second quarter, 45.7% considered it stable, and 20.1% reported difficulties.
For the fourth quarter of 2026, 39.2% of businesses forecast an improvement in production and business conditions, 44.7% forecast stability, and 16.1% forecast more difficulties.
Regarding orders, 37.3% of businesses expect the number of new orders in the fourth quarter to increase compared to the third quarter, 48.3% expect them to remain stable, and 14.4% expect them to decrease. Specifically for export orders, the percentage of businesses expecting an increase is 30.8%, stable at 54.2%, and decreased at 15%.
