In markets in the Dong Thap Muoi region of the province, uncleaned snakehead fish are currently priced at 30,000-40,000 VND/kg, while cleaned fish are sold for 50,000-60,000 VND/kg. These prices are significantly lower than at the beginning of the season, making it easier for consumers to purchase them for preparing traditional dishes for family meals.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Cam Hong (residing in Tan Hung commune) said: "Although the snakehead fish are bigger now compared to the beginning of the season, the meat is still soft, sweet, and retains its characteristic flavor. My family regularly buys snakehead fish to prepare many dishes such as braised in light sauce, sour soup, and deep-fried."

According to local vendors, although the snakehead fish at the end of the season are no longer as small as before, they are still popular with customers because of their fatty, tender meat and the fact that they can be prepared into many delicious dishes.
Ms. Pham Thi Hong Loan, a small trader at Tan Hung commune market, said that at the beginning of the flood season, when the fish were still small, the price of snakehead fish sometimes reached 250,000 VND/kg, then gradually decreased to the current price. Besides local people, many customers from other areas also contact her to place orders. Although the market is no longer as vibrant as at the beginning of the season, she still sells about 20kg of snakehead fish each day.
Linh fish is a specialty associated with the flood season, loved by many for its natural sweetness and versatility in preparing various delicious dishes such as sour soup, braised, deep-fried, or fermented fish paste. Even as the linh fish season draws to a close, its appeal remains strong, contributing to the income of small traders and meeting the seasonal demand for this delicacy.
