A friendly school environment begins with early identification of school violence.

Students from Quang Xuong 4 High School participated in a communication program on preventing and combating school violence.

Right from the beginning of the school year, Quang Xuong 4 High School in Tien Trang commune collaborated with the police and the education sector to organize a communication program on preventing and combating school violence. Through visual and engaging methods, the program helped students identify school violence in various forms.

School violence is not limited to physical abuse; it also inflicts deep psychological harm through threats, insults, and isolation. Alarmingly, this situation is becoming increasingly complex in cyberspace, transforming malicious comments, ridicule, or the dissemination of personal images into a form of violence that tramples on the honor and dignity of others.

Mr. Vu Van Thanh, Principal of Quang Xuong 4 High School, said: Building a friendly school environment and caring for students' mental health has been a task the school has been carrying out for many years. The school maintains a school psychological counseling team with dedicated teachers who have experience in managing and educating students; at the same time, it strengthens education on law , ethics, lifestyle, cultural behavior, and emotional control skills for students. Prevention must precede treatment; education must go hand in hand with responsibility; love must go hand in hand with discipline. Each teacher needs to be a companion, a reliable place where students can share their difficulties.

At Dong Cuong Secondary School in Ham Rong Ward, with over 1,720 students at both the main campus and branch campuses, preventing and combating school violence and building a safe and happy school environment are also identified as key priorities. Mr. Vu Quang, the principal of Dong Cuong Secondary School, stated: "The school implements many solutions, focusing on educating students through subjects, extracurricular activities, and awareness programs. In particular, the role of homeroom teachers and the head of the student council is emphasized to understand students' psychology and promptly detect conflicts and unusual behaviors from their early stages."

"Early identification is crucial because many cases of school violence don't happen suddenly; they often begin with minor conflicts, uncontrolled words, teasing, isolation, or online disputes. If detected and resolved promptly, these conflicts can be defused before escalating into violent behavior," added teacher Vu Quang.

To strengthen efforts to prevent and combat school violence, at the beginning of the school year, the Thanh Hoa Department of Education and Training developed a plan to coordinate the implementation of a communication program on preventing and combating school violence in educational institutions throughout the province. The content focuses on disseminating information, educating, and raising awareness, promoting compliance with the law, improving behavioral skills, and fostering responsibility among administrators, teachers, staff, and students. The communication is conducted in a visual, lively, and student-friendly manner; emphasis is placed on dramatization to convey legal regulations, ethical standards, cultural norms of behavior, and skills for handling situations that may lead to violence.

Through these activities, students are equipped with the knowledge to identify school violence in various forms; enhance their ability to protect themselves, control their emotions, and resolve conflicts using positive methods without resorting to violence.

In reality, preventing school violence from an early age not only aims to prevent potential incidents but also contributes to shaping students' civilized behavior, emotional control, and sense of responsibility towards the community. Training in communication skills, social interaction, emotional management, conflict resolution, and responding to violence should be done regularly, thereby gradually forming a school culture based on love, respect, and safety.
