Consul General Nguyen Trung Hieu was received by Mr. Kem Sambath, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Head of the Central Committee's Foreign Affairs Department; Mr. Yos Sokny, Chief of the Office of the Central Committee's Foreign Affairs Department; Mr. Som Chanvossa, Deputy Chief of the Office of the Central Committee's Foreign Affairs Department; and Mr. Nou Piseth, Deputy Director of the Asia-Pacific Department.

On this occasion, Consul General Nguyen Trung Hieu respectfully conveyed the warmest greetings and best wishes for good health from Comrade Le Hoai Trung , Member of the Political Bureau and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, to Mr. Prak Sokhonn, Member of the Standing Committee and Head of the Central Committee's Foreign Affairs Department of the Cambodian People's Party.

During the meeting, both sides informed each other about the relevant situation; agreed that the relationship between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) is a traditional solidarity, historically close, and an important political foundation in the bilateral relationship between the two countries; expressed pleasure at the positive results in the relationship between the two Parties and two countries in recent times; and expressed confidence that the relationship between the two Parties will continue to guide, strengthen, and promote the Vietnam-Cambodia relationship in the future, making it increasingly deeper, more substantive, and more effective.

Consul General Nguyen Trung Hieu expressed his hope to continue receiving the active attention and support of the Central Committee for External Relations of the CPP and the Party Committees of the six provinces under the consular jurisdiction, namely Preah Sihanouk, Koh Kong, Kampot, Kep, Kampong Speu, and Takeo, in order to successfully fulfill assigned tasks and further cultivate and deepen the traditional friendly cooperative relationship between the two Parties at the local level, especially between localities sharing land and sea borders.

Mr. Kem Sambath, Member of the Central Committee of the Party and Deputy Head of the Central Committee's Foreign Affairs Department, expressed his confidence in the appointment by the Vietnamese Party and State; hoped that with his extensive experience in foreign affairs, he would make positive contributions to the development of relations between the two Parties and countries, as well as people-to-people exchanges; and expressed his readiness to maintain close exchanges and coordination to ensure that Consul General Nguyen Trung Hieu successfully fulfills his assigned duties and has a successful term in Sihanoukville, Cambodia.
