Every time they have to leave Nam Bat village to go to the Nghia Do commune center, Mr. Hoang Van Hai and many other residents have to travel along a 15-kilometer stretch of Provincial Road 153 that has seriously deteriorated. The road surface is peeling, many sections are exposed, and there are numerous potholes, making travel difficult and posing a potential safety risk.

During the dry season, every time a vehicle passes by, thick clouds of dust are stirred up, limiting visibility and affecting the lives of people living along the road. During the rainy season, the road surface becomes slippery, coupled with the constant risk of landslides from the mountain slopes along the road, making travel even more difficult and unsafe.
Mr. Hoang Van Hai shared: "All commercial activities, transportation, and trading of people in the area are forced to go through this road. The roads are already difficult to travel on, making the transportation and exchange of agricultural products and goods even more arduous and costly, while traders often force down prices."

Provincial Road 153 is a vital transportation artery, playing a crucial role in connecting infrastructure for the socio -economic development of Nghia Do commune in particular and the surrounding area in general. Therefore, it is understandable that residents are frustrated and have repeatedly complained about the serious damage and deterioration of the road in recent times.
Mr. Ban Van Ngam, head of Na Phung village in Nghia Do commune, said that the severely damaged road surface makes it difficult for trucks collecting agricultural and forestry products to reach deep into the villages. Transportation and trade are therefore hampered, affecting the production and consumption of goods for the people. The villagers hope that the government will soon invest in repairing and upgrading the road comprehensively to facilitate travel and trade.

Beyond the difficulties in transporting agricultural products, the real concern for residents is the risk of traffic accidents. The already narrow road has many sharp curves and blind spots, while the rough surface makes travel dangerous, especially for students and the elderly.
In fact, it's not just the local people who are anxiously waiting; the leaders of Nghia Do commune are also constantly concerned about the lack of synchronized transportation infrastructure. The current deterioration of Provincial Road 153 has become the biggest "bottleneck" hindering the economic development, tourism , and new rural infrastructure of the locality.
Mr. Ly Van Noi, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghia Do commune, shared: "The people have repeatedly petitioned during voter outreach sessions, hoping that the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee will soon have a plan to invest in upgrading the road. The long, dilapidated road makes travel difficult for the people. The people of Nghia Do commune hope that the road will soon be upgraded comprehensively, ensuring safety and convenience."
In response to the legitimate concerns and suggestions of the people, the project to upgrade and renovate Provincial Road 153 through Nghia Do commune has recently been officially approved and is in its initial stages of implementation.
During this phase, the project focuses on constructing a 2.217 km section (the initial section from the center of Nghia Do commune) with a total investment of 30 billion VND. To date, the actual construction volume on the site has reached approximately 25% of the plan.

Mr. Do Anh Dung, representative of the Investment and Construction Project Management Board of Bao Yen commune, said: "We are actively coordinating with the Nghia Do commune government to effectively disseminate information and encourage affected households to hand over the cleared land as soon as possible. At the same time, we are urging the contractor to take advantage of favorable weather conditions, mobilize manpower, materials, and machinery, and organize construction in '3 shifts, 4 teams' to ensure progress according to plan."

It is evident that the upgrading of the first 2,217 km of Provincial Road 153 has partially met the expectations of the people. However, in reality, the remaining nearly 13 km still presents a huge challenge to the lives of the people and the socio-economic development of the locality. Therefore, continuing to allocate resources for the comprehensive investment of the entire route is a legitimate desire of the people of Nghia Do, and at the same time contributes to completing the transportation infrastructure, creating conditions to attract investment, and promoting the socio-economic development of the locality to flourish and develop sustainably.
