Following a sharp increase, the domestic coffee market has reversed course and is undergoing a correction. Purchase prices in key coffee-growing regions of the Central Highlands have uniformly dropped by 800 VND/kg, while the global market is experiencing divergence and facing pressure as Vietnam begins its new harvest season.

Domestic coffee prices have fallen by 800 VND/kg.

Coffee prices in the Central Highlands currently range from 93,200–94,000 VND/kg. The average price, based on market data, is approximately 93,900 VND/kg, a decrease of 800 VND/kg compared to the previous update.

Dak Nong (formerly Lam Dong) continues to have the highest purchase price at 94,000 VND/kg. Dak Lak and Gia Lai are both at 93,800 VND/kg, while Lam Dong has the lowest price at 93,200 VND/kg.

Area Price (VND/kg) Change
Dak Lak 93,800 -800
Lam Dong 93,200 -800
Gia Lai 93,800 -800
Dak Nong (formerly Lam Dong) 94,000 -800

After a 1,000 VND/kg increase, the 800 VND/kg decrease shows that domestic coffee prices remain quite volatile. Nevertheless, the highest purchase price still holds at 94,000 VND/kg.

Robusta futures for near-term delivery rose slightly, while Arabica futures fell across the board.

On the London exchange, Robusta futures for November 2026 rose slightly by $3, or 0.09%, to $3,448 per ton. However, longer-term contracts declined. The January 2027 contract lost $19 to $3,403 per ton, and the March 2027 contract fell $31 to $3,375 per ton.

The May 2027 contract fell by $36 to $3,358 per ton, while the July 2027 contract dropped by $39, closing at $3,344 per ton. This development indicates that support was mainly concentrated in the near-term contracts.

New York Arabica prices were under more significant pressure as all major contract periods declined. The March 2027 contract fell 3.05 US cents/lb, or 1.08%, to 279.60 US cents/lb. The May 2027 contract dropped 1.23% to 276.40 US cents/lb, while the July 2027 contract declined 1.31% to 274.35 US cents/lb.

The new harvest continues to dominate coffee prices.

The coffee market is entering a noteworthy phase as Vietnam begins its new crop year. New supplies are expected to gradually increase in the coming weeks, which could put some pressure on Robusta prices and the domestic market.

However, the large volume of new crop coffee is not expected to enter the market immediately in early October. Therefore, prices could still fluctuate significantly depending on actual trading activity, developments on the London exchange, weather conditions in the Central Highlands and other major producing regions around the world.

With prices ranging from 93,200 to 94,000 VND/kg, the domestic market is still maintaining relatively high prices. In the short term, the possibility of price fluctuations around 94,000 VND/kg will continue to be a focus as the supply from the new crop gradually emerges.
