On the afternoon of October 2nd, the Consulate General of Vietnam in Savannakhet province (Central Laos) organized a dissemination and implementation of Resolution No. 23-NQ/TW of the Politburo on work related to overseas Vietnamese to a large number of representatives of the overseas Vietnamese community and Vietnamese businesses in the area.
According to the Vietnam News Agency correspondent in Laos, Resolution 23-NQ/TW marks a strategic shift, moving from a mindset of "mobilizing and caring" to one of "accompanying and creating mechanisms" to strongly attract the intellectual and economic resources of overseas Vietnamese.
The core spirit of the Resolution is to put the past behind us, respect differences, and consider the Vietnamese community abroad as an inseparable part and an important resource for the development of the Fatherland.
At the conference, representatives from the Vietnamese Associations of Bolykhamxay and Savannakhet provinces, and the Vietnam Business Association in Central Laos (AVILA), reflected on the practical advantages and obstacles, and proposed many recommendations to overcome difficulties for investment and business activities of overseas Vietnamese.
Vietnamese Consul General in Savannakhet, Nguyen Van Dung, affirmed that the Central Laos region holds a strategic position in bilateral cooperation.
The Vietnamese expatriates here have a tradition of unwavering patriotism, while the Vietnamese business community is increasingly developing, becoming an important pillar in elevating economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
To ensure the Resolution is put into practice as soon as possible, the Consul General requested that all units promptly develop specific, practical action programs tailored to the unique characteristics of Central Laos; contributing to the strengthening of the special solidarity relationship between Vietnam and Laos.
