This afternoon (October 6th), Mrs. Ngo Phuong Ly, wife of the General Secretary and President of Vietnam, and Mrs. Maricel Cohen De Mulino, wife of the President of Panama, experienced the culture of Vietnam's ethnic minorities at Ho Van Lake, within the Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam National Special Monument.

The two ladies met with artisans, learning about the traditional costumes of Vietnam's ethnic groups and the weaving, indigo dyeing, beeswax painting, embroidery, and pattern-making techniques that have been preserved and passed down through generations.

Mrs. Ngo Phuong Ly shared that preserving heritage is not only about safeguarding traditional values, but also about integrating culture into contemporary life, creating livelihoods, and inspiring a love for the craft in the younger generation.

In connection with the Mola art of the Kuna people in Panama, Mrs. Maricel Cohen De Mulino was impressed by the similarities in colors, patterns, and the role of women in preserving and transmitting the heritage.

The two First Ladies expressed their desire to continue promoting cultural and people-to-people exchanges, so that culture can become a bridge connecting the friendship between Vietnam and Panama.
