Let's work together to create safe play spaces for children.
This project commemorates the 72nd anniversary of the Liberation of Hanoi (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2026) and the 70th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnam Youth Union (October 15, 1956 - October 15, 2026); it is also a practical gift for children and teenagers, contributing to creating a safe, healthy, and beneficial play space.
Reporting on the construction process of the children's playground, Le Vu Nguyet Huy, a member of the Executive Committee of the Youth Union of Residential Group No. 9, stated: “The children's playground in Residential Group No. 9, formerly the playground of Residential Groups 18-19 in Thinh Liet, was inaugurated in February 2022. After a period of use, some parts were damaged and deteriorated, and the playground became a dumping ground for waste, affecting urban aesthetics and the shared living space. Given this situation, the Secretary of the Youth Union reported to the Party Committee and the Front Committee of Residential Group No. 9 about the renovation, repair, and beautification of the facility.”
In accordance with the Resolution of the Party Cell of Residential Area No. 9, the Youth Union took the lead in upgrading the playground with a total estimated cost of 50 million VND from social contributions; of which the people contributed 20.7 million VND. The project has been repaired, some playground equipment for children has been replaced, and 5 new pieces of exercise equipment have been installed.
In response to the "4th National Green Sunday," in September 2026, the Youth Union of Residential Area No. 9, in coordination with other Youth Unions in Emulation Cluster No. 1, organized three clean-up campaigns to collect waste, repaint, and beautify the entire neighborhood, with the participation of over 90 young union members.
Use resources effectively and strengthen community bonds.
At the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Bui Minh Hoang, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Union of Hoang Mai Ward, presented a symbolic check for 30 million VND from the Youth Union of the ward to support the repair of the children's playground.
Comrade Bui Minh Hoang emphasized: “This project is clear evidence of the proactive and volunteer spirit of young people towards society. It is not only a meaningful gift providing a safe and healthy playground for children, but also a place for cultural activities and sports, helping to improve spiritual life and strengthen community bonds. In the future, the Youth Union will continue to promote its self-governing role, closely coordinating with the residential area to maintain, clean, protect the landscape, and maximize the functionality of this playground.”
To ensure the long-term effectiveness of the project, Le Thi Ha, Secretary of the Party Branch of Residential Area No. 9, said: “The Party Branch has assigned the Youth Union to take the lead and be responsible for managing the playground and exercise equipment; and at the same time, take measures to prevent deterioration. The Front Committee and the branches of mass organizations (Women's, Elderly , Veterans) will coordinate in disseminating information and mobilizing people to maintain general hygiene, preserve the equipment, and build the playground into a cultural and sports activity center for children in particular and the community in general.”
Immediately after the inauguration ceremony, the facility attracted many children and adults to come and play and exercise. Excited to experience the new equipment, Nguyen Xuan Phuc Khang (a second-grade student at Thinh Liet Primary School) shared: “I just played on the swings and used the leg exercise machine. Every day after school, I will come here to play and improve my health.”
After directly experiencing the exercise equipment, Mr. Bui Huu Ket, Deputy Head of Neighborhood Group No. 9, happily stated: “The people are very pleased that the playground has been renovated, cleaned up, and equipped with many exercise equipment suitable for all ages. This is not only a place for free health training but also a civilized, safe, and warm cultural and sports activity center for the people in the neighborhood.”
