The program contributes to building a reading culture, fostering a love of reading, and promoting lifelong learning within the community.

As part of the program, delegates and students were introduced to the book "Uncle Ho with Young People and Children". This activity contributed to bringing books about President Ho Chi Minh closer to the younger generation, helping them learn about his life, thoughts, ethics, and style, thereby fostering a love of books and a sense of learning and self-improvement. On this occasion, many organizations and individuals donated books, contributing to supplementing the library's resources.
The highlight of the program was the closing ceremony and awards presentation for the two reading culture competitions in 2026. The "Family Reading - Developing Family Libraries to Connect Love" competition attracted 256 entries, including 200 written articles and 56 videos . The "Reading Culture Ambassador" competition had 113 entries, including 98 written articles and 15 videos.
Through these two competitions, the reading movement in the ward continues to be stimulated, creating opportunities for families and students to share their feelings, develop their thinking and creativity, and spread positive values from books. In doing so, reading activities are gradually becoming integrated into family life, school life, and the community, contributing to building a healthy educational environment and encouraging self-learning.

Speaking at the event, a representative from the Dong Ngac ward leadership stated that the results of the competitions are just the beginning, and building and maintaining a reading culture in the community is a long-term goal requiring the joint efforts of all levels, sectors, and every citizen.
To ensure the library truly becomes a friendly and practical reading culture hub, the ward leaders requested the Ward's Cultural, Information, and Sports Center to continue refining its regulations, rules, opening hours, book borrowing and returning procedures, and methods for managing and utilizing resources. In addition, the Center should regularly organize activities such as "Weekend Reading Hour," "One Good Book Per Month," book introductions, storytelling based on books, seminars, and themed book exhibitions to attract a wide range of readers.
In the future, the ward plans to build a "Dong Ngac Book Corner," showcasing books about Hanoi , national history, revolutionary traditions, Dong Ngac culture, Chem Temple, ancient villages, and the traditional cultural values of the locality. This space will help people, especially the younger generation, to learn more about the history and culture of their homeland, fostering pride and awareness of preserving and promoting heritage values.

Along with developing book resources, reading culture is being promoted to spread from libraries to schools, residential areas, and individual families, forming a community reading culture network with libraries playing a central connecting role. Reading culture competitions in the future will also be gradually reformed in a practical direction, focusing on reading comprehension, critical thinking, and the application of knowledge from books to learning and life; while also paying attention to the sustainability of family bookshelves and the practical effectiveness of reading.
In addition, the application of technology to library operations will be gradually implemented through the creation of book catalogs, QR codes for book introductions, updating information on new books, and activity schedules in a digital environment.
