"Heart of the Beast" centers around James Belmont (Brad Pitt), a former Special Forces officer, and Odin, a retired service dog.

Following a plane crash in the Alaskan wilderness, the two are stranded in the harsh natural environment, forced to rely on each other to survive.

That journey was not only a battle against the weather, terrain, and lurking dangers, but also a test of loyalty and the special bond between the soldier and his four-legged friend.

To recreate Alaska on screen, the film crew shot most of the scenes in New Zealand, taking advantage of its majestic mountain ranges, glaciers, primeval forests, and waterfalls.

The crew had to access many isolated locations, some only accessible by helicopter. Some scenes were filmed in rain, snow, freezing temperatures, and on steep terrain, with the production team sometimes numbering up to 450 people.

At nearly 70 years old, Brad Pitt once again demonstrates the remarkable stamina of a star who constantly challenges himself with new roles and performs many difficult stunts himself. Notably, his "star" companion is Uber, a mountain rescue dog trained in New Zealand.

Combining breathtaking survival sequences with a touching story of friendship between humans and animals, the film promises an emotionally rich journey of courage, resilience, and the inseparable bond between a soldier and his loyal companion.
