At the meeting, delegates looked back on the 80-year journey of building, fighting, and maturing of the armed forces of Military Region 2.
From its early days, under the leadership of the Party, President Ho Chi Minh , and with the support and assistance of the people, generations of officers and soldiers of the Military Region have overcome many difficulties, achieved many victories, and contributed to the cause of national liberation, building and defending the Fatherland.
Through practical combat experience and mission execution, the tradition of "Loyalty, self-reliance, solidarity, bravery, and victory" has been formed, nurtured, and become a prominent characteristic of the armed forces of Military Region 2.
Being awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces by the Party and the State on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Military Region's founding is a recognition of the contributions of generations of officers and soldiers of the Military Region throughout its history.
This is also an opportunity for today's generation to express gratitude for the contributions and sacrifices of previous generations and to continue to uphold the values that have been cultivated over the past 80 years.
At the meeting, the leaders of Military Region 2 stated that in the past period, the Military Region has focused on effectively carrying out military and national defense tasks; proactively monitoring the situation, promptly advising the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense , and effectively handling situations in the region.
Simultaneously, the implementation of policies, laws, and regulations on military and national defense has been carried out synchronously. The Military Region continues to reorganize local military forces towards a lean, efficient, and strong structure, with a focus on organizing forces at the commune and ward levels to meet the requirements of the mission in the new situation.
The overall quality and combat readiness of the Military Region's armed forces continue to improve. Training, force building, and maintaining combat readiness are identified as key tasks.
These results provide a foundation for the armed forces of the Military Region to continue fulfilling their duties in the context of increasingly demanding national defense requirements.
From the 80th anniversary milestone, the armed forces of Military Region 2 are determined to continue maintaining unity, improving the quality of training, combat readiness, and proactively overcoming difficulties in performing their duties.
Tradition is continued not only by recalling the achievements of previous generations, but also through the results of each officer and soldier's performance of their duties today.
