However, along with the increased demand for recruitment, businesses are also setting higher requirements for skills, technological adaptability, and practical competence.
Recent data from career and job search platforms VietnamWorks and Upzi shows that approximately 30% of employers plan to recruit recent graduates in 2026. Notably, the demand for this group of personnel has been steadily increasing over the years; in the first half of 2026 alone, it increased by 180% compared to the same period in 2023.
This trend indicates that businesses are increasingly seeking to recruit young, easily trainable, and adaptable personnel. In the context of competitive labor market conditions and skill shortages, hiring young people is seen as a long-term investment, both supplementing resources and enabling businesses to train personnel according to practical needs.

The advantages of young workers become even clearer as technology, especially artificial intelligence (AI), is rapidly changing the way work is organized and performed. The ability to access new technologies, learn quickly, and adapt to a flexible work environment is becoming a key focus for businesses.
In Hanoi , this demand was also quite evident in the job fairs held in September. At the mobile job fair in the cluster of communes of Thuong Tin, Hong Van, Thuong Phuc, and Chuong Duong, businesses needed to recruit 675 out of 1,276 positions for workers aged 30 and under, accounting for nearly 52.9%. At the mobile job fair in the cluster of communes of Gia Lam, Bat Trang, Phu Dong, and Thuan An, this age group accounted for 1,845 out of 3,773 recruitment positions, equivalent to nearly 49%.
According to Vu Quang Thanh, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Employment Service Center, young workers have advantages in terms of health, the ability to adapt quickly to the working environment, dynamism, and willingness to meet the requirements of businesses regarding working hours, intensity, and conditions.
However, expanding job opportunities do not mean that all young workers can easily find suitable jobs. The gap between business requirements and the actual capabilities of workers still exists, especially in soft skills, digital skills, problem-solving abilities, and practical experience.
In reality, qualifications are increasingly becoming the sole factor determining job suitability. In a rapidly changing manufacturing and business environment, companies need personnel who not only "know" but also "can do": they must be able to collaborate, handle situations, solve problems, and proactively adapt to new requirements.
Notably, the rapid development of AI is continuing to change the skill structure in the labor market. Tasks that rely heavily on operational procedures are tending to be automated, while the ability to use technology, analyze information, think critically, be creative, and solve problems is increasingly valued.
The labor market in 2026 therefore presents a dual challenge: job opportunities for young people are increasing, but competency standards are also rising rapidly. Narrowing the gap between training and the actual needs of businesses will not only help young people find suitable jobs but also determine their ability to leverage the advantages of the young workforce in the process of technological transformation and changes in employment models.
