According to information from his family, on the morning of October 3rd, his health showed positive improvement after receiving treatment from doctors at Gia Dinh People's Hospital (Ho Chi Minh City). If his condition remains stable, he may be discharged in the next few days.

Earlier, in the early morning of October 2nd, he suddenly experienced chest pain and was rushed to the hospital by his family. At that time, heavy rain caused flooding in the area around his house on Dinh Bo Linh Street, Binh Thanh District (formerly), Ho Chi Minh City. Worried about the approximately 10,000 books and other belongings in his house, he went up and down the stairs to move his possessions. During this time, he experienced severe chest pain.

Researcher Nhat Chieu, whose full name is Phan Nhat Chieu, was born in 1951 in Ho Chi Minh City. He is a literary researcher, translator, lecturer, poet, and Buddhist cultural researcher.

He is known for works such as *Three Thousand Fragrant Worlds*, * Japan in a Mirror*, *Basho and Haiku*, *Masterpieces of World Literature* , and *An Outline of Eastern Culture* . His poetry collection *A Thousand Rituals of Love* was released earlier this year.

Currently, he and his wife live with his sister. Because the family members are all elderly, his students take turns visiting him at the hospital to care for him.
