Mr. Tran Ngoc Hiep, Chairman of the People's Committee of Mu Cang Chai commune, said that the beautiful weather and the rice harvest season have attracted many tourists to the area. According to statistics, since the September 2nd holiday, Mu Cang Chai usually welcomes about 11,000 visitors each week, mainly concentrated on weekends. Mu Cang Chai has about 2,200 hectares of terraced rice fields, of which 330 hectares are classified as a special national scenic spot. The area is famous for its terraced rice fields, most beautiful during the two seasons of the rainy season (April-May) and the rice harvest season (September-October), which coincides with the rice production cycle of the Mong ethnic group.
