The European Union (EU) announced on October 3rd that it has disbursed 2.9 billion euros to Ukraine to support economic stabilization, prioritize budget expenditures, national recovery and modernization, and promote reforms to meet EU accession standards.
This is the eighth disbursement under the "Ukraine Facility," the EU's financial instrument supporting Ukraine during the 2024-2027 period.
According to the European Commission (EC), the new funds were disbursed after Ukraine completed 10 reform targets in areas such as banking, energy, agricultural policy, transport, and several others. Some targets were completed ahead of schedule.
The new aid aims to contribute to maintaining Ukraine's macroeconomic stability, ensuring priority budget expenditures, supporting economic recovery and modernization, and promoting reforms in line with the EU integration roadmap.
According to the EC, the total amount of EU funds disbursed to Ukraine under the Ukraine Facility framework has now exceeded 32 billion euros. Continued disbursements are linked to the progress in implementing the commitments and reforms that Ukraine has set out in the program.
The EU stated that further aid would continue to depend on Ukraine meeting the conditions for reforms and governance as agreed with the EU.
