
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Minh Tuan recently signed and issued the Plan for organizing the 7th Dong Hoa Hiep Ancient Village Culture and Tourism Festival in 2026. Accordingly, the festival aims to contribute to the preservation and promotion of the architectural and cultural values of Dong Hoa Hiep Ancient Village; create conditions for local people to participate in tourism, and promote the role of the community in developing sustainable heritage tourism. Through this, it will promote the historical and cultural values, and the image of the land and people of Dong Thap to domestic and international tourists.
According to the plan, before the official festival takes place, many communication and promotional activities will be implemented, such as: the Dong Hoa Hiep Ancient Village Logo Design Contest; the "Dong Hoa Hiep Moments" photo and video clip contest ; the "Village Gate Storytelling" contest; the Famtrip program "Dong Hoa Hiep Ancient Village - From Heritage to Tourism Product"; developing a set of communication messages, promotional publications, and increasing the introduction of the festival in the press, television, and social media.

The series of activities also includes a songwriting competition for traditional Vietnamese folk songs and vọng cổ (traditional Vietnamese opera) with the theme "Dong Hoa Hiep - a land of memories and affection," organized by the Provincial Union of Literature and Arts.
On the opening day of the festival, November 19th, visitors can explore ancient houses, experience the Heritage Flow Space, traditional craft villages, folk games, and traditional banh tet making; enjoy the Floating Market - Southern Cuisine Space, art performances on the river, and the "Ancient Houses Illuminated at Night".
The opening ceremony took place on the evening of November 19th at the An Loi Hamlet Cultural Center's courtyard. The program included welcoming performances, an opening speech by a leader of the Provincial People's Committee, a video clip introducing the Dong Hoa Hiep Ancient Village, the opening ceremony, and an artistic fireworks display; the opening ceremony was broadcast live on television.
On November 20th, one of the notable professional activities was the workshop "Project for the Preservation and Promotion of the Architectural Artistic Value of Ancient Houses and Villages in conjunction with Tourism Development" at the Ông Ba Đức Ancient House. The same day also featured a reenactment of the temple worship ritual, the "Cai Be Bamboo Pole" competition, experiential activities, and the "Youth with the Colors of Dong Hoa Hiep" festival night.

Beyond simply recreating traditional cultural activities, this year's festival also focuses on creating new products and experiences for visitors, connecting the ancient houses with floating markets, traditional crafts, local cuisine, products, and creative activities. The activities are organized with a focus on increasing community participation, ensuring that heritage is not only preserved but also becomes a resource for tourism development and the local economy .
The 7th Dong Hoa Hiep Ancient Village Culture and Tourism Festival in 2026 is expected to create a further highlight for tourism in Dong Thap , while spreading the values of a Southern Vietnamese ancient village rich in identity to a wide audience of locals and tourists.
