
According to the National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting, from the night of October 3rd to October 5th, the northern region of Vietnam will experience localized heavy rain.
On the night of October 3rd, the mountainous and midland areas of the Northeast region of Vietnam experienced showers and thunderstorms, with some areas receiving heavy rain, with rainfall amounts ranging from 10 to 25 mm, and in some places up to 50 mm.
From October 4th to the morning of October 5th, the Northern region experienced rain, moderate rain, and locally heavy rain with rainfall amounts ranging from 20 to 50 mm, and in some areas exceeding 80 mm.
Additionally, on the evening and night of October 3rd, the Southern region and Lam Dong province will experience showers and scattered thunderstorms with rainfall amounts of 10-30 mm, and locally heavy rain exceeding 70 mm in some areas.
Thunderstorms accompanied by tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind can affect agricultural production, cause trees to fall, damage houses, transportation infrastructure, and other facilities. Localized heavy rainfall can cause flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on slopes, and flooding in low-lying areas.
Regarding the flood situation on the Dong Nai River, the National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting reports that over the next 24 hours, the water level on the Dong Nai River at the Ta Lai station will fluctuate below alarm level 2.
There is a risk of flooding in low-lying areas along the riverbanks and in low-lying areas within the communes of Dak Lua, Nam Cat Tien, Ta Lai, Thanh Son, and Phu Vinh in Dong Nai city and surrounding areas. Flood risk warning level 1.
Flooding on the river has inundated low-lying areas along the riverbanks, affecting activities such as waterway transportation, aquaculture, agricultural production, people's lives, and socio-economic activities. Currently, the water level on the Dong Nai River (Dong Nai City) at the Ta Lai station is rising slowly and remains below alarm level 2. At 1 PM on October 3rd, the water level at the Ta Lai station was 112.32 m, 0.18 m below alarm level 2.
At sea, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting predicts that on the night of October 3rd and during the day of October 4th, the northern part of the Gulf of Tonkin, the sea area from Lam Dong to Ca Mau, Ca Mau to An Giang, the Gulf of Thailand, and the southern South China Sea (including the Truong Sa special economic zone) will experience scattered showers and thunderstorms. During thunderstorms, there is a high possibility of tornadoes, strong gusts of wind (level 7-8), and waves exceeding 2 meters. All vessels operating in these areas are at risk of being affected by tornadoes and strong gusts of wind.
Currently, scattered showers and thunderstorms are occurring in the southern South China Sea (including the waters around the Spratly Islands).
