On October 2nd, Major General Mostafa Izadi, Deputy Commander of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), stated that the Iranian armed forces have made significant progress in the fields of army, air force, air defense, and navy. They have prepared "surprises" for the enemy.
General Izadi added: "The armed forces are using a variety of technologies, some of which have already been deployed on the battlefield and others will be used in the future."
A senior IRGC commander noted that the region is now facing new circumstances, adding that US forces have had to withdraw more than 500km from the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman due to fears of Iranian cruise and ballistic missiles.
Given the current situation the U.S. is facing, this gap is likely to widen even further, General Izadi noted.
He emphasized: "This demonstrates the strength of Islamic Iran against its rivals. Countries in the region have realized that the American presence does not contribute to security but, on the contrary, is a source of insecurity."
General Izadi's statements come amid escalating tensions in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz , where Iran has maintained complete control over the strategic waterway since the outbreak of the US-Israeli invasion in February.
