Recognizing the growing market demand for pigeon meat and the increasing consumer need for clean, high-quality food, Mr. Trinh Ngoc Liem dedicated time to researching and directly learning pigeon breeding techniques in many provinces and cities.

This is the model of raising French pigeons on a scale of 1,200 cages by Mr. Trinh Ngoc Liem's family.

In September 2025, he invested in building a modern farm system with over 1,200 cages. From the initial 600 pairs of French pigeons raised experimentally, thanks to proper care, the flock has nearly doubled. Currently, his family farm maintains a stable breeding stock of 1,100 pairs of parent pigeons.

Mr. Liem shared: “This area used to be used for gardening, then it was converted to livestock farming. I studied in Bac Giang and Vinh Phuc, and then invested in pigeons. Before, I raised them free-range, but now I raise them semi-industrially, which is more productive. French pigeons are less prone to disease and easy to care for.”

French pigeons are easy to raise, resistant to disease, and have the advantage of being large and having delicious, flavorful meat.

To improve the efficiency of poultry farming, Mr. Liem focuses on investing in technology at every stage of production. Instead of letting the birds incubate their eggs naturally, he equipped his farm with an automated egg incubation system. This method ensures even hatching, increases the reproductive productivity of the mother birds, and minimizes losses of chicks due to weather or disease.

According to Mr. Liem, using an incubator achieves a hatching rate of 90% or higher, but if the parent birds incubate the eggs in unfavorable weather conditions, many eggs spoil. Pigeons have a fast breeding cycle, good meat quality, and a stable market.

Using an automatic incubator helps eggs hatch evenly, with a hatching rate of 90% or higher.

Thanks to the application of science and technology, Liem's family's French pigeon farm supplies the market with 500 to 600 pairs of commercial pigeons each month, generating revenue of approximately 80 million VND. After deducting expenses, the profit is over 30 million VND per month.

Besides selling commercial birds, Mr. Liem's farm also supplies breeding birds to breeders inside and outside the province. Healthy breeding pairs, fully vaccinated and with good resistance, are sold for 250,000 VND per pair. This model not only brings income to his family but also attracts many people in the area to visit and learn from his experience to apply it in practice and develop their own household economy .

Mr. Nguyen Van Thang , Director of the Bao Ha Commune General Service Center, said: “This is a new model in the area, and over time, it has proven effective in utilizing hilly and garden areas. Recently, many people, village heads, and heads of the Fatherland Front Committees in the villages have visited to observe. Currently, the commune has 3 households participating in raising French pigeons, following a group interest model, supporting each other in raising them, and expanding the model together.”

The model has become a shining example for farmers to visit and learn from.

The initial success of the French pigeon breeding model has brought a stable income to Mr. Liem's family and several other households in Hong Son, while also opening up a new direction in the rural economic development of Bao Ha commune.
