On October 2nd, 2026, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in coordination with the People's Committee of Hai Phong City, organized the 12th Northern Region Industry and Trade Conference - 2026. Within the framework of the conference, in the presence of Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Luong Hoang Thai and leaders of the Hai Phong City People's Committee, the Vietnam E-commerce Association (VECOM) and the Hai Phong Department of Industry and Trade signed a cooperation agreement to implement e-commerce to promote exports in the 2026-2030 period. Simultaneously, the Hai Phong Department of Industry and Trade also signed cooperation agreements with several e-commerce platforms and technology solution providers to develop e-commerce in the area.
Also on this occasion, the E-commerce Department and the Hai Phong Department of Industry and Trade jointly organized an E-commerce Fair with the theme "Connecting Regions to Expand Markets," featuring live streaming sessions and booths showcasing and promoting OCOP products and specialty products of Hai Phong and other provinces and cities in the Northern region.
Deputy Minister Luong Hoang Thai, along with leaders of the Hai Phong City People's Committee, visited the booths at the "Connecting Regions, Expanding Markets" e-commerce trade fair.
On the same day, the Hai Phong Department of Industry and Trade and the e-commerce development center (eComDX) held a conference titled "From Policy to Practice" to disseminate legal information and promote the application of digital technology in e-commerce. The event was attended by representatives from the Hai Phong Department of Industry and Trade, eComDX, TikTok Shop, FPT Polytechnic Hai Phong, Media Soft Group Joint Stock Company, and approximately 200 delegates representing businesses, cooperatives, individual business owners, and students in the area.
Previously, on October 1, 2026, the E-commerce Department and the Hai Phong Department of Industry and Trade successfully organized a training program to enhance skills in applying digital technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and livestreaming sales in e-commerce.
