
According to data from the Hanoi Social Insurance agency, the above coverage rate does not include the armed forces and those who have participated in health insurance for less than 3 months and whose coverage is currently being preserved.
In the compulsory social insurance group, the entire city has 2.735 million participants, equivalent to 48.28% of the working-age population, an increase of 18.93% compared to the same period in 2025. The target for 2026 is 49%.
The voluntary social insurance group has 153,400 participants, accounting for 3.73% of the working-age labor force, an increase of 16.15% compared to the same period last year; the target for 2026 is 4%.
Regarding unemployment insurance, the number of participants reached 2.646 million, accounting for 47% of the working-age labor force, an increase of 18.38% compared to the same period in 2025.
In addressing unemployment benefits for workers, by the end of September, Hanoi had issued decisions granting unemployment benefits to 51,200 people, an increase of 37.3% compared to the same period in 2025; the total amount of support was approximately 1,943 billion VND.
