Foreign direct investment (FDI) into Vietnam continued to increase sharply in the first nine months of this year, with total registered capital exceeding $50 billion.
Notably, disbursed capital reached its highest level in the first nine months of the past five years, while capital flows into emerging technology sectors are showing an upward trend.
According to the General Statistics Office, as of September 30th, the total registered FDI capital in Vietnam reached US$50.36 billion, an increase of 76.4% compared to the same period last year. Notably, all three forms of capital attraction increased. Newly registered capital reached US$29.24 billion, 2.4 times higher than the same period; adjusted capital increases reached US$14.15 billion, up 25.1%; and capital contributions and share purchases reached nearly US$7 billion, up 44%.
