The event is envisioned as a platform to showcase technology, promote innovation, connect communities, and create a space for dialogue between the government, businesses, technology organizations, educational institutions, and the public.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Nguyen Huy Binh, Vice Chairman of the Son Tra Ward People's Committee and Head of the Festival Organizing Committee, stated that SIF 2026 is taking place in the context of science, technology, digital transformation , and AI creating profound changes in governance, production, business, and daily life.
According to Mr. Binh, for Son Tra, innovation is not only viewed from a technological perspective but is also concretized through new methods, models, and solutions that create practical value for people, businesses, and the community.
"For innovation to become a driving force for development, the government cannot act alone; it needs the participation of universities, research institutes, experts, technology companies, innovation businesses, financial institutions, telecommunications companies, and the community," Mr. Binh said.
According to the Son Tra Ward People's Committee, the locality aims to develop Son Tra into a unique marine service, tourism, and economic center; and has identified three breakthrough tasks: digital transformation, marine economic development, and education linked to cultural identity.
One of the key directions that Son Tra ward is focusing on is the development of the "Digital Transformation Project to Promote and Create Momentum for Economic and Social Development of Son Tra Ward in the period 2026-2030, with a vision to 2035" and the Project to Establish the Son Tra Ward Innovation Zone.
The People's Committee of Son Tra Ward hopes that businesses will share their needs, investment capabilities, and potential solutions; experts will provide feedback on governance models, pilot mechanisms, and business models; and universities will participate in training, research, idea incubation, and connecting students and lecturers with practical local problems.
A highlight of SIF 2026 is the technology experience space featuring over 20 businesses. These companies showcased a variety of products and solutions related to AI, robotics, future technologies, digital transformation, and digital applications in daily life.
Besides technology experiences, the Festival organizes workshops and dialogues on building the Son Tra Innovation Zone, digital transformation, AI application in education, and business networking.
