Attending the ceremony were Comrade Nguyen Thanh Dieu, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province; Major General Lam Phuoc Nguyen, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Dong Thap Provincial Police; along with representatives of leaders from various departments and agencies, and leaders of professional departments of the Provincial Police.
At the ceremony, delegates reviewed the journey of building, fighting, and maturing of the force. Closely linked to the glorious historical traditions of the entire nation, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police force of the two former provinces (Tien Giang established on May 15, 1975, and Dong Thap established on September 30, 1976), despite the extremely difficult early days and lack of equipment, has continuously grown and matured.
Continuing the heroic tradition of previous generations, the force is always resourceful, courageous, and ready to overcome all hardships and dangers to extinguish many complex fires and protect the peace of the homeland. The 65th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Force is an opportunity to recall the glorious past, strengthen faith, and gain more strength for the road ahead.
With their achievements, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Force has been honored to receive many prestigious titles and awards from the Party and the State, including: 8 Certificates of Merit from the Government, 17 Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of Public Security , 9 Certificates of Merit from the General Department of Police, and 43 Certificates of Merit from the Provincial People's Committee.
Speaking at the gathering, Major General Lam Phuoc Nguyen acknowledged and commended the efforts of the forces throughout the years, especially their sense of responsibility, solidarity, initiative, courage, and willingness to overcome difficulties and dangers to protect the lives and property of the State and the people.
The Major General emphasized that, in the context of international integration, digital transformation , and rapid urbanization, the risk of fire and explosions is always present, and the demands on fire prevention and rescue work are increasingly high. Therefore, the force needs to focus on implementing several key tasks such as: Innovating management thinking towards "self-acceptance, self-responsibility," reducing administrative procedures, and tightening post-inspection; prioritizing prevention, resolutely preventing large fires and fire spread; improving the effectiveness of state management associated with administrative reform, pioneering digital transformation; innovating the content and form of propaganda; replicating self-prevention and self-management models, effectively implementing the "4-on-the-spot" principle; enhancing combat capabilities, conducting in-depth training, maintaining 24/7 combat readiness, and conducting substantive exercises at key facilities; building a clean, strong, regular, elite, and modern force, striving for "Three Best: Most Disciplined - Most Loyal - Closest to the People."
Major General Lam Phuoc Nguyen expressed his confidence that the collective of officers and soldiers of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department will unite and be determined to successfully complete all tasks, worthy of being a "steel shield" protecting the peaceful lives of the people and serving the socio-economic development of the province.
