VIDEO : The appearance of the 2.5 Ring Road through Tay Ho Tay, which has just opened for technical traffic. The project to build Road No. 5 into the center of the Tay Ho Tay New Urban Area, part of the 2.5 Ring Road passing through Xuan Dinh ward ( Hanoi ), was started in January 2021 and was expected to be completed after 320 days. However, due to difficulties in land clearance, the project has been stalled for more than 5 years. Currently, the road, approximately 582 meters long, is open for technical traffic and connects Nguyen Hoang Ton Street to the center of the Tay Ho Tay New Urban Area. The road has a cross-section width of 50 meters. Workers continued to complete the sidewalks, lay paving stones in the median strips, and install the clean water supply pipeline system. At the intersection, workers are urgently installing the traffic light system. The components, including lamp posts, signal lights, wiring, and the control system, are being completed.
Currently, the sidewalk and median strip paving projects along the entire route are approximately 60% complete.
New trees have been planted along both sides of the route, and landscaping features have been arranged. The construction unit stated that the work is expected to be completed within the next week.
Ms. Phuong, who frequently travels along this road, said that the project's delayed implementation has caused many difficulties in getting around the area. After the road is opened for technical traffic, residents hope that the remaining items will be completed soon, facilitating travel. Once operational, the route is expected to contribute to the completion of the regional transportation network, increase connectivity between Tay Ho Tay and Cau Giay and surrounding areas, reduce traffic congestion during peak hours, and gradually improve the urban landscape.
