The ideal

Tourists visit Ben En National Park.

In recent years, Ben En National Park has become increasingly well-known and visited by tourists. Without the hustle and bustle, Ben En National Park captivates visitors with its natural beauty and diverse, rich ecosystem. Here, visitors can participate in many experiential activities, such as: hiking through the forest to explore the vast primeval forest – home to a diverse range of flora and fauna. From ancient ironwood and pine trees to valuable timber and medicinal plants, along with many rare animals such as the Malayan sun bear, black gibbon, ground hornbill, and golden pheasant… After exploring the flora and fauna, visitors can camp, enjoy the fresh air, and experience the slow pace of life amidst the lush green nature.

Moreover, visitors can enjoy boat tours to explore Song Muc Lake. The lake covers an area of 3,000 hectares, with an average depth of about 30 meters. The water remains crystal clear year-round, creating a cool and peaceful atmosphere. Within the lake are 21 islands of varying sizes, known by charming names such as Love Island, Twin Island, Awkward Island, Paradise Island, and Hope Island. During the tour of Song Muc Lake, the boat driver will take visitors to explore the islands, admire the natural scenery, and share legendary stories and the history of the region.

In addition, within the buffer zone of Ben En National Park, there are many community tourism destinations in Xuan Thai commune, home to the Thai and Muong ethnic groups. Therefore, visiting and exploring these community tourism destinations also offers many unique experiences for tourists.

Sharing about his family's tourism model, Mr. Le Van Nien (owner of Le Nien Glamping in Cay Nghia village, Xuan Thai commune) said: “Taking advantage of the lush green space near Ben En National Park, I invested in a system of tents along Song Muc lake to develop community tourism. Here, tourists can participate in many diverse activities such as camping, trekking, motorboat tours to admire the scenery, and enjoy local specialties (hill chicken, Man pig, wild vegetables). When night falls, the experience becomes even more impressive with campfire lights, the sounds of the khene and flute, and cultural exchange activities that reflect the unique identity of the Thai and Muong ethnic groups. Thanks to the harmonious combination of nature and culture, since its opening, the facility has attracted a large number of tourists, especially those seeking a peaceful "healing" place, away from the hustle and bustle of city life.”

Participating in an experiential tour from Ben En National Park to community tourism destinations in Xuan Thai commune, Ms. Hong Anh, a tourist from Hac Thanh ward, shared: "For me, Ben En National Park has always been an ideal 'healing' destination. The space here is filled with greenery, bringing a sense of peace, helping me regain my spirits and forget my fatigue. Not only that, when connecting from Ben En National Park to the community tourism destinations in Xuan Thai commune, I got to gather with the locals around the table with local dishes, chat, learn about customs and traditions, participate in cultural exchanges, play gongs and drums, and dance the bamboo pole dance... These activities provided interesting experiences and left a beautiful impression on tourists."

Mr. Le Thanh Hai, Director of the Center for Conservation and Development of Forest Biodiversity and Environmental Services, Ben En National Park Management Board, said: Currently, the trend of "healing" tourism, immersing oneself in nature, in green and spacious environments, is being chosen by a large number of tourists. Therefore, in order to provide more experiences for tourists, we have been promoting the development of diverse types of tourism, such as: ecotourism, forest-based relaxation, community tourism associated with preserving local cultural identity, nature experiences, environmental education , and sports tourism, with activities to experience and explore nature. Tourism activities are strictly managed and implemented in a directed manner, ensuring that forest area is not reduced, the ecosystem is not affected, or the natural living environment is not negatively impacted. The local authorities also focus on raising awareness to encourage tourists to participate in environmental protection and landscape preservation activities. This will contribute to building a green, eco-friendly destination – a place where all visitors can come to explore, experience, and "heal."
