The old house of Mr. Luong Trong Due's family in Dong Son ancient village (Ham Rong ward) is an attractive check-in point for tourists.
From early morning, the Lam Kinh National Special Historical Site in Lam Son commune was bustling with activity. Tourists came here not only to visit and learn about the history of the Later Le Dynasty, but also to check in and capture beautiful photos during their trip .
Mr. Nguyen Huy Hoang, a tourist from Hanoi , shared: “Before coming to Lam Kinh, I had researched the historical site through photos taken by friends and posted on social media platforms like Zalo and Facebook. I found it quite beautiful, with lush green scenery, so this autumn, I brought my family here to visit and experience it. Here, not only is the nature expansive and the air fresh, but each stop, such as the banyan tree, the dragon courtyard, the main hall, and the royal temples, has its own unique beauty and is connected to a historical story. Here, my family can also check in, take beautiful photos, and post them on social media to promote the destination to friends and tourists.”
Ms. Bui Anh Tuyet, Deputy Director of the Management Board of Ho Citadel Heritage and Key Relics of Thanh Hoa Province, said: "Building unique check-in spaces, closely linked to the historical and cultural identity of the relic site, is an effective solution to create a highlight and attract tourists in today's digital age. Therefore, the management board has built and arranged many check-in points to serve the needs of tourists. Especially during the Lam Kinh Festival 2026 (from October 1st to 3rd), the management board has also built and arranged experiential and check-in spaces with a strong royal court feel and planned to organize a folk art festival and a highland market, along with folk games such as tug-of-war and stick pushing, to create appeal and attract tourists."
Located beside the majestic Ma River, surrounded by interwoven mountains and hills, the ancient village of Dong Son in Ham Rong ward is also a popular tourist destination and photo spot. Visitors can check in at the alleys named Nhan, Nghia, Tri, and Dung, or at the ancient houses that have been preserved by the locals for generations.
Among the ancient houses here, the most prominent is the house of Mr. Luong Trong Due, over 200 years old, which has been relatively well-preserved by generations of his family. According to Mr. Luong The Tap (son of Mr. Luong Trong Due), who is currently looking after the house, "In recent years, the number of visitors checking in at our family's ancient house has increased significantly, especially on weekends. To attract tourists, my family has built an additional space for collecting antiques, arranged more miniature landscapes, and planted more flowers and trees in the yard to create a cool, green space. This allows visitors to both enjoy themselves, explore , and take photos to capture beautiful scenery. And these photos, when posted on social media, will be the most effective way to promote tourism to their friends and fellow travelers."
In fact, in recent years, tourist areas and attractions in the province have become increasingly well-known and visited by tourists, largely thanks to images posted and shared by visitors on social media. Images of tourist destinations, food, restaurants, local specialties, etc., posted on Zalo and Facebook, mostly receive considerable attention, likes, comments, and shares. Typical examples include the Sam Son and Hai Tien beach resorts, as well as community tourism destinations in Tien Son village (Thuong Xuan commune), Don village (Pu Luong commune), and But village (Nam Xuan commune)...
With the desire to mobilize the community to spread the image of Thanh Hoa tourism on the internet, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has launched the digital communication campaign "Check-in Thanh Hoa Beach in 2026", with the theme "Sharing moments - Spreading the beauty of Thanh Hoa's beaches". Along with that, the department also encourages tourist areas and destinations to promote digital transformation and digital communication in tourism activities, strengthen the creation of more attractive check-in spaces and promote the synchronous connection of destinations in a linked tourism chain, aiming to bring exciting and attractive experiences to tourists.
