Change your approach to customers.

This change opens up many opportunities for small businesses, startups, and local producers of distinctive products. Geographical distances are gradually narrowing as a product made in a rural area can reach customers in many provinces and cities if businesses know how to effectively utilize digital tools, build brand image, and establish credibility in the market.

Nguyen An Agricultural Products Co., Ltd. (Dien Tho commune) – a company producing pure vegetable oils (peanut oil, black sesame oil, macadamia oil, walnut oil, sacha inchi oil) – is choosing digital transformation in line with its long-term development strategy. The company uses its website, social media, and online channels to introduce products and reach customers; it applies digital tools in management, sales, and content creation, including the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to support content processing, saving time and costs. Ms. Le Ngoc Phuong Thao, co-founder and Business Manager of the company, said that applying technology helps the company to promote, sell, and maintain connections with customers more easily. In addition, the company is developing production towards a circular economy, utilizing seed husks for organic fertilizer and oil pressing residue as raw materials for animal feed to save raw materials, enhance product value, and gradually expand its market.

At Son Hai Jelly Joint Stock Company (Thuan Bac commune), in addition to the direct distribution system, the company uses social media and online channels to introduce product images and information, communicate with customers, receive feedback, promote new products, and update market demands. As a result, product promotion is no longer entirely dependent on retail outlets or centralized trade fairs and promotions. Mr. Nguyen Tinh, the company's business supervisor, stated: “Digital transformation gives products more opportunities to reach consumers in many localities without being limited by distance. However, for customers to return, the decisive factors remain product quality, the company's reputation, and the ability to maintain connections with the market.”

Helping businesses expand their markets.

During the period 2021-2026, over 2,000 businesses, cooperatives, and production and trading establishments in the province received support to participate in trade promotion activities, product advertising, and introductions. Along with direct activities, businesses were supported in accessing domestic and international e-commerce platforms, building online brands, applying electronic contracts, and implementing smart sales solutions. The digital environment helps businesses improve the effectiveness of their trade promotion activities.

However, currently, the digital transformation capacity among businesses in the province is uneven, especially among small businesses, cooperatives, and production facilities. Many units lack skilled digital personnel, have not invested systematically in promotion, customer data management, and online channel operation. Some businesses have only gone as far as putting products online without effectively utilizing digital tools to convert reach into orders. These are limitations that need to be addressed to promote digital commerce in a more in-depth manner.

Mr. Truong Van Tien, Director of the Provincial Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center, said: "In the coming time, the center will continue to support businesses in improving digital skills, promoting products on suitable platforms, and combining direct and online trade promotion. The goal is not only to bring products to the digital environment but also to help businesses effectively utilize these platforms to find customers, connect with partners, and expand markets."
