Google releases Gemini 4 Argon
Google's parent company, Alphabet, has just announced the Gemini 4 Argon, the highest-end model in the Gemini 4 generation, positioned for complex tasks and competing with leading AI models from OpenAI and Anthropic. Google says the Argon is larger than previous Pro models and is the most powerful model the company has ever developed.

The published benchmark results show that Argon leads in some tests, but not overall. For example, the model achieved 77.9% in DeepSWE v1.3 and 91.9% in Vibe Code Bench, higher than Astra's 74.1% and 89.6%, respectively. However, Argon only achieved 55% in FrontendSWE v2, lower than Astra's 65.5%. In Terminal-Bench 4.0, Argon achieved 57.4%, compared to Astra's 58.2%.
Gemini 4 Argon is not yet available to the general public. Google has only provided the model to a select number of cybersecurity partners participating in the Trump administration's pre-release model access program, and has not announced a timeframe for wider adoption.
The inclusion of Argon in the Gemini 4 generation also meant Google canceled its planned Gemini 3.5 Pro release in June. Around the same time, DeepMind underwent a restructuring, with CEO Demis Hassabis stepping down and several senior Gemini executives leaving the company.
Samsung quietly releases Galaxy Buds On.
The Samsung Galaxy Buds On are clip-on earbuds recently announced by Samsung in the Korean market. The device uses an open design, attaching to the outer ear and completely exposing the ear canal, targeting users who dislike the feeling of inserting earbuds deep inside their ears.

This design has limitations in terms of sound leakage. To address this issue, Samsung equipped it with the TwinBoost speaker system, which is touted for its ability to enhance the bass range and automatically adjust the volume according to the surrounding environment.
The Galaxy Buds On also feature a wide contact area to distribute pressure along the earcup, along with touch controls on the back of each earbud and voice separation for calls.
The Galaxy Buds On charging case has an exterior design very similar to the Galaxy Buds 4 charging case. When connected to compatible Galaxy devices, the earbuds support several features such as answering calls with head gestures, Gemini Live Assistant, and Quick Voice Memo, activated by pressing and holding the touch-sensitive area.
The Galaxy Buds On are expected to go on sale in South Korea from October 27th, in black only, priced at 299,000 won, equivalent to approximately 5.7 million VND. Samsung has confirmed plans to expand the product to the global market but has not yet announced the international release date, regions, or pricing.
Bitget lost $387.5 million after zero-day attack.
The cryptocurrency exchange Bitget has confirmed that approximately $387.5 million worth of digital assets were stolen in an attack stemming from a zero-day vulnerability in third-party security products.
An investigation by SlowMist and Mandiant, Google Cloud's cybersecurity unit, revealed that hackers infiltrated the security device and then moved the data to Bitget's wallet processing system.

Bitget detected numerous unauthorized transactions on September 24, 2026, and had to temporarily suspend withdrawals. However, the earliest traces were detected by SlowMist on August 31.
Hackers exploited a zero-day vulnerability in a third-party security product service. This vulnerability allowed them to execute hidden code, retrieve database passwords from environment variables, and then connect to the database.
By September 24th, Mandiant determined that the attacker had gained control of two third-party security devices and from there deployed a web shell, establishing a remote control channel to access the wallet task processing server.
After gaining access, the hacker deployed malware and a tool customized to the transaction processing logic of the Bitget wallet system, allowing them to create unauthorized withdrawal requests and bypass several risk control mechanisms.
The attack affected 11 blockchains, including Ethereum, XRP Ledger, Zcash, TRON, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, BNB Smart Chain, Avalanche, Algorand, and Celestia.
Following the incident, Circle, Tether, and NEAR Intents froze nearly $1.1 million in related assets. The incident highlights the risks that can arise from partner security products if they are granted extensive access to systems.
