Construction is moving forward after years of being left unfinished.
These days, the unfinished section of Chu Van An road looks different than before. Trees on the surface have been cleared, the roadbed has been leveled, and rough areas have been scraped to reduce mud and make it easier for vehicles to pass.

The site has now been cleared and the roadbed leveled.
Previously, the middle and final sections of the route could not be implemented due to land acquisition issues. As a result, the project was fragmented, with some sections already completed and others still unfinished. During the dry season, dust is generated; when it rains, travel through the area becomes even more difficult.
Mr. Nguyen Kien, from Dong Son commune, said that the people have been waiting for the project for many years. "The road, located right in the central area, is still not finished. The people just hope the project will be completed soon so that travel will be more convenient," Mr. Kien shared.
Sharing the same sentiment, Mr. Le Lien from Nghia Lo ward stated that the prolonged deterioration of the road has directly affected the lives of the people. "The road is very dusty; it's muddy when it rains and dusty when it's sunny. People have great difficulty getting around, and we just hope the road will be completed soon," Mr. Lien said.

Residents hope the road will be completed soon for easier travel.
The Chu Van An Road and Residential Area project, the section from Hai Ba Trung Street to Ngo Sy Lien Street, is 876 meters long and has a total investment of over 220 billion VND. This is a north-south traffic artery of Quang Ngai city, connecting the northern bank of the Tra Khuc River with the provincial center.
The project received investment approval from the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee in 2012. Although construction began in 2016 and aimed for completion in 2020, land acquisition issues prevented the project from being implemented as planned.
Over the past 10 years, the project has also changed management several times. From the former Quang Ngai City People's Committee, the project was transferred to Quang Ngai Investment, Construction and Service Business Company Limited (QISC), and then handed back to the city for management.
By July 2025, when the two-tiered government model is implemented, the project will be transferred to the Quang Ngai Provincial Land Development Center. However, the land acquisition issue remains the biggest bottleneck preventing the completion of the remaining section of the route.
According to the leaders of the Quang Ngai Provincial Project Management Board for Civil and Industrial Construction Projects, the unit is urgently coordinating with the Provincial Land Fund Development Center to take over the role of investor and develop a plan to resume the project.
Wherever land is available, start working immediately.
Mr. Vo Thanh Trung, Director of the Project Management Board for Investment and Construction of Civil and Industrial Works in Quang Ngai Province, said that the unit has proactively leveled and prepared the ground to restart construction of Chu Van An road as directed by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Instead of waiting for the entire site to be cleared, the new investor will require the contractor to start construction immediately in areas that meet the necessary conditions.
The contractors involved in the project have also worked to agree on a plan to resume construction. Instead of waiting for the entire site to be cleared, the new investor will require the contractors to immediately begin work in areas that meet the necessary conditions.
The remaining obstacles will continue to be addressed in coordination with local authorities, point by point. The principle is to begin construction wherever land is available, avoiding further prolonged delays for the project.
More than a decade after the initial approval, the goal this time is to expedite land clearance, organize simultaneous construction at suitable locations, and strive to complete the entire Chu Van An road by 2026.
