Hai Phong's consumer price index increased by 4.3% in the first nine months.

According to Hai Phong City Statistics, the city's consumer price index in September increased by 1.18% compared to August. On average, for the first nine months of 2026, the consumer price index increased by 4.3% compared to the same period in 2025.

Overall, in the first nine months of 2026, all 11 groups of consumer goods and services saw price increases compared to the same period in 2025. The highest increase was in the housing, electricity, water, fuel, and construction materials group, rising by 8.23%, mainly due to increases in the prices of kerosene, cooking gas, rent, and home maintenance materials.

The transportation group increased by 6.3%, mainly due to rising gasoline and diesel prices, which impacted transportation costs and the prices of some related services.

Besides the pressure of persistently high gasoline, diesel, and cooking gas prices due to global market fluctuations, the prices of some raw materials, fuels, and input materials, as well as labor costs, have increased, impacting the cost of products and services.
