The melody of "Tiến quân ca" (Marching Song) opened the Vietnam Airlines Classic - Hanoi Concert 2026, performed by the London Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Sir Antonio Pappano. Like a familiar and eagerly awaited moment each concert season, the Vietnamese national anthem once again opened the encounter between the LSO and the Hanoi audience. Photo: VNA Mr. Le Hong Ha, General Director of Vietnam Airlines, shared his thoughts on the impact of Vietnam Airlines Classic after nearly a decade of accompanying the cultural life of Hanoi: “For almost 10 years, the program has become a Hanoi autumn rendezvous, eagerly awaited by audiences each season. We hope this rendezvous will continue, alongside a Hanoi that is increasingly developing, closer to the world , while still retaining the things that make people remember and want to return.” Photo: VNA Over 100 artists from the London Symphony Orchestra performed on stage at the Ho Guom Opera House during the Vietnam Airlines Classic 2026. As soon as the first notes sounded, the audience at the Ho Guom Opera House greeted the LSO with applause, opening the concert by one of the world's leading symphony orchestras in Hanoi . Photo: VNA To facilitate the two concerts in Hanoi, Vietnam Airlines transported approximately 5.5 tons of musical instruments and equipment from the London Symphony Orchestra by air. From string instruments to brass and percussion sets, each instrument underwent a careful transportation and storage process before being used by the artists to create performances at the Ho Guom Opera House. His return with the orchestra continues to create a link between the seasons of Vietnam Airlines Classic in Hanoi. Photo: VNA A new highlight of Vietnam Airlines Classic 2026 comes from the performances of two soloists, Benjamin Marquise Gilmore (violin) and Eivind Ringstad (viola). In Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante, the violin and viola alternately lead, sometimes accompanying, creating a musical conversation with the entire orchestra. Photo: VNA Behind the sublime performances lies the intense concentration of each artist. The synergy is evident in every glance, every movement, and the way the artists coordinate on stage. This clearly demonstrates the skill honed over years of performance and thousands of hours of working together by one of the world's leading orchestras. Photo: VNA At the helm, conductor Sir Antonio Pappano, along with the LSO artists, created unique nuances in each performance. From melodies with deep emotion to powerful climaxes, the concert took the audience through a range of feelings.
