On October 3rd, at the regular September 2026 government meeting , localities reported positive results after the first nine months of 2026 and committed to the government to strive to achieve double-digit growth targets as well as 100% disbursement of public investment capital.
Speaking at the Government meeting, Central Committee member and Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Vu Dai Thang said that the capital's economy continued its impressive acceleration after the first nine months of 2026, recording outstanding growth. In the third quarter of 2026 alone, the city's GRDP increased by 10.02%, bringing the nine-month growth rate close to 9%.
Hanoi has proactively added 80,000 billion VND to the city's public investment plan to focus on key projects. A series of large-scale projects have entered the accelerated construction phase, notably the ring roads, bridges over the Red River, radial routes, and especially the commencement and implementation of 5 urban railway lines.
To create momentum for breakthroughs in the remaining months of the year and the subsequent period, Hanoi City proposes that competent authorities prioritize resources to promote national infrastructure projects in the area, focusing on the Ring Road 5 project, national railway lines through Hanoi, and inter-regional transportation hubs.
At the same time, it is necessary to promptly apply a new land pricing mechanism and remove obstacles to credit financing for social housing, allocating appropriate preferential capital sources to facilitate the flow of credit.

According to Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, despite facing many challenges, Ho Chi Minh City has achieved impressive economic growth over the past nine months: GRDP in the third quarter increased by 9.86%, bringing the nine-month result to 9.66%.
In addition to accelerating key transportation infrastructure projects, Ho Chi Minh City has provided free health check-ups and created electronic health records for approximately 5.6 million people (accounting for 44% of the population).
Entering the final three months of the year, Ho Chi Minh City is focusing intensely on achieving three major goals: double-digit economic growth, reaching a budget revenue target of 1 trillion VND, and disbursing 100% of allocated public investment capital.
To achieve the three aforementioned goals, Ho Chi Minh City has determined that its GRDP in the fourth quarter needs to exceed 13.2%, while also urgently disbursing approximately 16,000 billion VND of remaining public investment capital; removing obstacles related to land and procedures to promote "mega-projects" such as the Can Gio International Transshipment Port, the Can Gio land reclamation project, the Cai Mep - Ha port, the Metro lines, and the first phase of the flood control project, which is expected to be operational in November 2026.
According to Mr. Nguyen Viet Hung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province, the province's socio-economic development has seen positive breakthroughs over the past nine months. Economic growth reached 11.21%; state budget revenue reached 36,900 billion VND, equivalent to 98% of the projected target.
Based on the central government's resolutions to resolve outstanding issues, the province is determined to completely resolve the backlog of 257 projects within 2026.
In order to create momentum for long-term breakthroughs, Khanh Hoa proposed that the competent authorities support the locality in implementing two strategic contents: Completing the plan for establishing the Van Phong Special Economic Zone in accordance with the Law on Urban Development for the Government to consider and submit to the competent authorities for promulgation, and supporting the province in developing a plan to make Khanh Hoa a centrally-governed city.
